Anyone care to explain how they were going to make money beyond milking their victims for fees?

Hint: There are more websites devoted to the subject than anything else on the internet. It is also a monstrously big industry in print and movies. There is ALWAYS a huge market for porn. If you don't have to pay the models, or worry about them wanting royalties and residuals, you make that much more money. And the market is so big it's probably possible to sell the same pictures over and over to many different places.

Besides, if your morals are shoddy enough to the point where you're willing to scam honest folks out of their money, a porn shoot scam probably wouldn't be much of a stretch. Any way to get them over the barrel and hold 'em down while you strip the cash from their pockets. And like Labrusca said, you could probably sell the same pics to different sites. Lotta dirty money to be made in the porn business, "honest" or not.

I was kind of afraid of this, but didn't want to say anything.
It's called 'chicken hawking'.
Mostly I've heard it used in reference to runaways, but this would work too.
Get some pretty young thing away from home and the support structure that implies. Dazzle her with glitter. Throw her some quick and easy money.
All for just a few simple 'artisitic photo shoots'.
From what I've heard, the photo session is usually the least of the kids worries before they're done.
Also, consider that most of their 'contestants' are going to be extremely young, and young looking. A big seller on the net, apparently.
a while back I got on some spam list. the korean spam i don't mind. no porn (!) and nice clip art. most of the porn spam consists of mizpellllet wurds, offering photos of barely legal teens.
It isn't new. I've read references too it dating back to the Victorian age. Offer some country girl a job in a rich townsmans house as a maid. Then once she's outside ot the reach of anyone who might help her, tell her what her real duties will be.
Thelma wants to redeem her honor and pride?
Forget calling the cops for a reward. Find out what hospital that photog is in. Track down the queen bee yourself.
Busting an international con artist should boost Thelmas rep significantly.

Squirrelly, I couldn't agree with you more. However, I always thought that "chicken hawking" was entirely for the underaged..14 and younger...kiddy porn. Just exactly how old are Thelma and Tuck.....has that ever been established?

And OH YEAH....AB-SOOO-LOOTELY....go find out where "Good Ol' Marty" is and "convince" him that it'd be in his best interest as well as his continued healing processes to "assist" our rural friends in locating "Dear Ol' Ma Smith".

And yer right about if Thelly & friends busts up an international scam ring.....lets hear just WHAT the town gossips would try to say......I think Thel's REAL friends in town would be in the ol' biddies faces with fryin' pans.

True, but the idea is applicable here as well. The only major difference is that miss piggy won't get busted for kiddy porn.
In fact, she was probably very carefull at signup to make sure everyone involved was over eighteen.
I remember hearing somewhere that a porn star in the eighties (Tracy Lords?) got her start using a fake drivers license, birth certificate and U.S. travel visa. When, after several years of movies, the truth came out, the guys who thought they had hired a 21 year old actress wound up in jail.

Like I said, Piggy was probably reeeeal careful about proof of age. Con jobs a good lawyer can bargain about. Child porn, you're lucky to live long enough to reach trial.

I wouldn't bet the farm on that level of meticulousness applying nowadays.
Not in a decade where the courts have ruled that cartoons or illustrations of child pornography are legal, because no specific REAL child is being exploited.... anyway, if those porno guys went to jail after being presented with three different kinds of forged documents, it was because their lawyer sucked.


And you're assuming that they'd be selling this stuff through outlets in America. Look at what is perfectly legal around the globe--- under-18 porno? candyfloss by comparison.

I think thelma would be at least around 18 if not 16, I mean not to sound perverted but she has a nice rack and a very adult curved form.. and looks hot in a bathing suit *runs from Tuck* seriously tho I don't think Thelma would be brought into this if she was underage

Tuck and Thelma were photographed skinny dipping as little kids, at an age when kids usually don't hang out with someone much older or younger. That puts them at the same age or close. Tuck finished home schooling at 16, and the strip suggested he'd graduated at least two years earlier. From those things, it seems like Tuck and Thelma have to be at LEAST 18. If Ralph is letting them age, they'd be more like 20.
