Did she lie? She said she was going to be in the big calendar shoot, which still may be true. The "Ladies of Wrestling" calendar.
Well, looking at the March 8 strip, she evidently gave Hortense a room number that does not exist at the hotel where she said she was staying. I'm not entirely sure what the point of this might have been, considering the directions seem to have been fine and she didn't give them to Hortense at all, but something doesn't add up somewhere.

Could be a misinterpretation ("X is at the hotel" interpreted incorrectly as "I'm also staying at the hotel"), or somebody could have misspoken/misremembered/written the number down wrong, I suppose.

Live yer dream, Thelma, live yer dream! :D
Being thought 'pretty' might please her a bit. Being one of the big dogs of the ring, even briefly, will be something she'll treasure for life!
As for the possibility of the old 'Identical twin cousins' bit, well, Nip is still available.
Identical boys dating identical girls? The mischief writes itself! Not to mention one of the boys being Nip, and one of the girls being an over the top pro wrestler.
Imagine the kids!!!! :o
You can fool some of the people all of the time
And all of the people some of the time
But you can't fool all of the people all of the time.

Try living with it, but thanks to my will and learning self control I am much better now :o
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

One possibility is that the hotel has a special block of rooms that "don't exist", as far as any average person off the street (or groupie, or tabliod reporter) is concerned, and the organizers of the contest (beauty, wrestling, whatever), routinely put their guests in them to give them privacy and to keep secrets from getting out. If Thelma is in one of these, she wasn't lying; it was the hotel staff lying (or doing their jobs, depending on how you look at it).

Things sure have taken an interesting twist, haven't they? :D Who knew she'd end up in the ring making a guy twice her size start mentally reciting the Lord's Prayer? "Daily bread" here meaning precious little things, like, y'know, air?

On a small, somewhat unrelated side note, there's a movement to make wrestling respectable again. Not the soap opera stuff on pay-per-view with the bimbos in tight clothes waltzing through the ring. I mean real wrestling. The ancient Greek type, minus the nudity ('cause, y'know... just... ewww... >_<). I've seen posters for this "Real Wrestling League" or something like that... put guys who actually know how to wrestle in real matches... and add a bit of drama to it.

I, for one, hope that it does well. But then, I am the son of a well-known wrestling coach (at least he's well-known around here), and he managed to place about 2nd or 3rd in the Nationals. I'm talking among all the wrestlers in his weight class... in the nation. =P So don't trash talk real wrestling in front of me unless you want a thrashing, alright?

"Gay wrestlers" my eye... grrrrrrrr... *looks for nearest jerk to shred into jerky strips*
I'm lost. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, please ask me to wait. Thanks.

OK. But so far, real wrestling doesn't exist (at least in the US) outside of High School and College varsity sports.

And every 4 years at the summer olympics.

As a former HS wrestler, I sympathize with StrangeWulf.

And it is boring as all heck to watch.

Okay....I just GOTTA toss my 2 cents worth in here... Terry Boella, aka "Hulk Hogan" was my (limousine) client here in Orlando a few years ago while he filmed his comic book of a TV show "Thunder in Paradise". I got to meet and schmooze with his co-stars and guest villans who all were his wrestling buddies. Steve Bourdan (Sting) Jimmy Hart (Manager) and a whole slew of others.

There was NO DEBATE on the fact that current WWF/WCW/WWE/NWO was all "choreographed"....read: "fake fight". What we actually have is a soap opera with lots of macho posturing and LOTS MORE physical violence.

Taking that into consideration.....look at the acrobatics some of these behemoths perform, like flying off the top rope and landing on the dude on the mat...... :o Most of these guys are well into the 300+Lb range and landing from some 7-8ft in the air and not seriously injuring if not killing either themselves or the poor schumck he just landed on takes no small amount of skill and ability. And some of them even get acting roles in some good movies. Taylor Mane (Sabretooth) in X-men. And recently Kevin Nash as "The Russian" in 'The Punisher'.....met him at a convention here in Orlando three weeks ago at the Punisher booth......this was one HUGE sumbich.. :o Had great talk with him.

True, it's not realistic Greco-Roman wrestling but it IS entertaining and fun to watch. And out of the ring and off camera, these are some of the nicest dudes with the most warped sense of humor I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.

All you N&T fans out there....you wanna see something REALLY FUNNY? Go to a live match some night and watch some little blue-haired granny at ringside or maybe 3-4 rows back.......they make Thelma look like she's on Ritilin!!

And Solidus....if you take it in the context that it is....it's not really boring...it's a hoot.....a BIG HOOT. :P

You mean where they lay on top of each other and grope themselves? Very homoerotic if you ask me.

I will take the indie circuits over the real stuff anyday. Had a blast and got to see Jummy Snuka in action, though no longer at the top of his game. Still that guy was flying.
