At this point though, Tuck's not thinking about that.....hasn't he actually gone to the city to try and get her OUT of this show and apologize for forcing her into it? Albeit his motivation has come a great deal from Hortense, that IS why they're looking for her now.

Er... I thought he was going to apologize earlier, but got rather sidetracked upon getting an armful of gleeful possum-in-the-top-twenty. I thought this trip was for the sake of being admiring and supportive -- though at some point it may occur to him to apologize for his methods anyway.

I stand corrected...you're right.....brains were turning to oatmeal when I posted that. It was almost 0600 and I was just headed for bed....been driving all night.

I didn't fail. She isn't a phony person and I'll bet that this is costing her a lot emotionally. We'll find out the particulars soon enough.

insanity is just a radical view of reality. We all have different views of reality, and different ethics and morals, some more radical than others.

Sanity used to be judged by popular opinion, but is now decided by people who were terribly concerned about their own mental health and so went to college, to learn from the previous generation of their own kind.

Tuck forced her into this contest, with a very dire threat. If Thelma made it to the next stage and realized that things weren't going to be up to her levels of modesty, she would be caught in a horrible quandary.

On the one hand, she wouldn't want to continue in the contest. On the other, Tuck threated to break up with her if she didn't sign up for the contest, and might invoke this treat if she quit mid-stream.

So she may feel forced to continue because of Tuck's threat, yet be equally terrified of anyone finding out what she is thereby forced into doing. Misleading people as to the contests whereabouts would therefor be an act of desperation and not deceit.

>_< God I hope this isn't the scenerio RH chooses...if it is, I hope Tuck can run real fast because Hortense isn't going to be the only Malarkey County female out to skin him alive once word of it gets out....(I'm still not sure who I'm more angry at...Tuck for his "threat" or Thelma for not kicking him in his *cough* "shins" for saying it.
