My 12" tall "Modo" the bionic-armed muscle mouse action figure stands atop my monitor protecting my studio from all intruders and other nogoodnics.

Is it a real Modo or a quasi modo?

Are you familiar with "Biker Mice from Mars"?

If he gave you a piggyback ride, could you call it a modo transportation?

My fave is Throttle, voiced by Rob Paulsen.

Just standing there, grinning and leaning on a wrench almost as large as herself.

I've long since declared her the patron saint of broadcast engineering.
Just broadcast engineering? Why limit her? She's pretty good across the board, as I recall. :)

Yup..(cue thick Japanese accent)....Dot issa Modo-mouse. I've got his boots tack-glued to the top of my monitor where he stands guard over me and my domain.

My fave is Charlie.....I never could resist a hot babe with a well stocked toolbox . 8) (Git yer mind outta the gutter!!)

I DO however, LOVE Vinnie's futuro-crotch rocket. And from the looks of the rear hub, it's a shaft drive....no chain.

Biker Mice

Post by Sharuuk »

Hey Squeaky...

I've managed to record most of the BMFM episodes several years ago. They're on VHS and I'm gonna transfer them to DVD as soon as I get some time. Would you, or anyone else for that matter, know where I might find the episodes pre-recorded? For a REASONABLE price?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Someone else can make her their patron saint too - I won't complain.
In my line of work I have built and detonated small explosive devices, installed turn signal blinkers on a horse, put out a fire or two, and used a scrap of 1-mil thickness garbage bag to shim a helical-scan video head and thereby correct for its chassis being bent...
Somehow, Gadget H. seemed a fitting choice!

GOOD GRIEF!!!!!!! You mean there's another one o' ME out here loose in the world?????

You just described me almost to a "T". Though not confined exclusively to my line of work (s), your thought processes are scarily close to mine!!!! I've used the same garbage bag shim technique on a vcr that got bounced pretty hard and bent the chassis.........great (warped) minds think alike........and that's REALLY frightening!!!! 8)

But I'll admit I NEVER put turn signal blinkers on a horse before......I love it!!!

The whole assembly was supported by the saddle, there wasn't any point in making it look like the lights were actually attached to the horse. We were selling hamburger-joint advertising for a place with a Cowboy theme.

About the garbage-bag trick? Well, once you realize the helical scan head drum is 1/1000 of an inch out of line, and you have a lot of 1/1000 inch thick garbage bags around, the answer becomes obvious. I've fixed equipment with a spring from a ballpoint pen, too.
The VCR in question here was a Sony U-Matic format using cassette tape 3/4" wide. I think it was a VO-5800 model, or maybe a VO-5850. Obsolete even then and almost ancient now.

Broadcast engineering is a wide field, from fixing ceramic candy jars shaped like pigs that shout "I'm a PIG!" when opened, to gluing women's shoe soles back on or soldering eyeglasses back together, to crawling through the attic pulling CAT-5 for the LAN and then setting up the workstations for Novell Netware... The antenna tower work makes for good stories sometimes, too. Then there was the ionized moth in the RF diplexer... Beautiful green flames and more noise than you'd believe.. Good times all around.. When the janitor is on vacation, I get to go around and empty the trash cans each morning.

Not a place for a Bitty Pretty Pony, perhaps - But Gadget Hackwrench? Heck yeah!
