Yay Portia!

Post by Kellogg »

Just wanted to say "Yay Portia!"

Took some guts to say what she did today.
I can understand why Fawn is skeptical, but
I have to admit, I don't have much faith in
such an oath if Portia will take one. Her temper
is legendary.

I think she can swear to *try* to control her
temper, but it'll be a sooore test to keep it.
Never say "Never Again". ;)

Good work Matt! Portia's back in the reader's
graces, even if she's not with the characters. :)

There's so much I could say here, but I'm going to wait and let things play out, first.

I'm glad you like the way things are going, though!

*Sniffle*

It looks like little Portia is growing up.
It's not easy but it's deffinately worth the effort.

i honestly don't think she'll be able to keep her promise 100% of the time. but I think when she flubbs the next time she'll be more readily able to make an effort to correct her error right away. Rather than moan and mop about her problem.

Let's hear a big YEAH for character development.

Keep up the good work Matt!!!

Well, I guess I can take portia a notch down on the scale. She no longer rates as Harpy, moving a step up to shrew. I forget who said it but "the path to redemption is a slow road... uphill." I couldn't help but notice that Portia, by intent or sheer obliviousness, has put herself between Fawn and Yerzle. Make of that what you will.

I'm glad you think she's redeemable, Andrick, since I'm going to be working like hell to get her out of the hole I've dug for her. I never intended for her to turn into this, and I don't want her to remain like this. I only hope that I can make her transformation believable.

Methinks you give me too much credit.
But I like your interpretation!

YAY Portia! (Again)

She finally see's that Fubarr's a jerk (or at least, not for her). I'm sure Fubarr will take opportunity to demonstrate further that he's a jerk. :)

I think you may be disappointed, Scott.

She's come a long ways, but she's still got a long ways to go....

Uh... Kellogg? Not to pick a fight, or anything, but did you get the context of today's comic? Specifically that Fubarr was thinking of "taking a break" from their relationship as well. Portia is reacting about as well as I'd expect her to react with such an implicit statement of "you're not all that and a bag of jelly babies".

What can I say?

Matt's created a... well, not exactly a villian, but a character I like to hate. :) So, I'm taking advantage of the opportunity to say:

Furbarr is the Anti-Yerzle!
Down with Evil Fubarrness!

As for the rest of it? Well, it'd be nice to see him trying to remove Portia's staff from his nose. ;)

Oh, and in case you missed it, this post and the previous should be taken with a heavy dose of

Fubaar is the anti-Yerzle! In all possible aspects!

But don't worry, Scott, he'll get his comeuppance!

Unfortunately (for Scott & Andrick), I don't know that Portia is actually suggesting that they spend time apart from each other in a relationship sense, rather than just in a spatial sense.

I mean, how would YOU respond if your significant other told you, after you said in effect, "I agree that we should spend time apart?"

To an extent, he actually reminds me of Yerzle in the early days of FCE - brash and with a lot to learn about about how things work in the real world.
