Am I the only one who thinks that you're drawing for the "sake of drawing" pictures for your stories? Your characters looks so lifeless, they look just like pictures, without the expressions... Maybe because it's the way you draw? Anyway, I guess it's just me again.

Yes. It is.As the writer, not the artist, I do take offense. How often do you post "good job" messages?Dammit, you just pissed me off for the day.------------------

Okay couple of things Vulpix, as the artist of PDI. I do take offense, here's why.First, you posted this in Matt's forum, either you lack the intelligence or guts to post it in PDI's forum where it might be valid.Second, you don't offer critque or what might change, you make a statement, don't back it up then shrug it off with 'maybe it's me' To which the answer is, yes, it's you. Get a clue please. Not everyone will draw like you like. Just because your incapable of getting it doesn't mean it's lifeless or invalid. It's just you.So in closing, in the future, you feel the need to attack my art. Post it in the PDI forum okay?Anthony, annoyed at little gits who want to whine about a free service instead of going out and creating what they want to see. See lazy whining punk for further examples.

Hey, do you think Vulprick ( no offense ) reads Red Meat? That's a comic in papers like the Chicago Reader that seems to do fine with just pictures and words. As far as Talbon's art goes, He's grown by leaps and bounds and is only getting better every day. I see those two pictures you posted as evidence of his fantastic consistency more than any lack of showing emotions. Vulpix, I think you should go read Gravity instead of FCE or PDI. That guy is more suited to your ego.KOWTLT

Damn.There's very little I could add, except this: In a comic, the pictures illustrate the story. SO saying,"you're drawing for the 'sake of drawing' pictures for your stories" is really fairly meaningless.Almost as meaningless as saying that the pictures look like pictures and that you can't understand what's going on without speech bubbles. It's not a silent film, and it's not a wacky over-the-top comic, the intent is semi-realism, so the eyes aren't going to bug out, the tongue isn't going to roll out onto the floor, and we rarely have things floating around the head. When people smile, in different circumstances, it's a fairly subtle thing. I'm hoping you have better faculties fo recognizing this in the real world, or you'll find most people aren't cartoony enough for you to understand.I don't want to clutter up Matt's forum with bitter acrimony, but I do have this parting wisdom: saying "no offense but..." never works. It means to me that you thought your statements might be offensive, so I read them that way. That's pretty much human nature.And no, your original statement wasn't simply a critique, it was a criticism. Again, a subtle difference. ------------------

I don't have a problem reading PDI, I can see the facial expressions and everything perfectly well.Try reading <a href="http://people.ne.mediaone.net/pshaughn/ ... ">Triangle and Robert</a> some time. Then you'll *really* see lack of facial expression! ^_^--Typhin, who once attempted a comic, but has since allowed it to fall by the wayside of No Update Road. May or may not create new comic to take its place...

As a long time reader of PDI I can say I've never complained about the art style. Talbon can draw better than I can anyway. But I can also say I enjoy PDI, the art and the writing. But this kind of griping he did reminds me of this fact.The British have a word that describes people who complain like this about everything....I believe the word is:GIT!
If you think about it the word can hold 2 meanings in the same sentance.Like:YOU GIT!1. Calling the guy a Git
2. Telling the guy to GIT gone, before someone uses a table leg on him.
