X-Box, DC, GC, PS2...

I also know no one who wants or has an X-Box. All my friends are exceedingly turned off by the fact that it runs off a modified Windows 2000 and it costs and extra $30 to "activate" the DVD player.The DreamCast is cool, but its potential was basically screwed over. Although it makes a nice back-up ISP should your computer have modem trouble.The GameCube is good. I've played it, I've seen some of the games it has on it... Wow. Rogue Leader is damn cool. SB: Melee is really, really fun (never quite got into the 46-button combination to do one move mode with other fighting games). Luigi's Mansion is actually a pretty puzzle-filled game. But I'm not getting one, because I can't afford it right now.PlayStation 2 has nice games, but I'm boycotting it in protest of how it conducted itself in the console wars. Yes, I know. Idealistic moron. Don't care.

I just recently picked up a DC. Can't beat it for $50. Eventually I'll be able to afford a GameCube and PS2. As for Xbox... haven't seen anything that really screams out to me. Halo was news 2 years ago... now it's just like every other WAY overhyped game... too little, too late. DOA 3 isn't THAT pretty... not enough to make me go out and buy an XBox. As for the other games... bleh. Nothing all to exciting, or that's not already on PS2 or NGC.------------------

I was out xmas shopping yesterday, and I saw xbox and gamecube displays in a small little corner. I couldn't help but notice the size difference. I was standing there trying to figure out how many gamecubes, if chopped up (gasp!), would make an x-box. My guess is anywhere between 2.5 gamecubes/xbox. I see the gamecube, and it is cute. I see the xbox, and it is huge and ugly. Shoot, I'd choose the gamecube over the xbox for that alone, not to mention the many other reasons. I'm not even going to get into the whole microsoft thing (I have tried to use applications on XP and lets just say its no picnic).I do have a PS2. I was one of the crazy people standing in line all night last year. Next time, more consoles for us or more blankets for me (it was COLD!) or I will have to preorder.Shinegami[This message has been edited by shinegami (edited 12-13-2001).]
