(I am filled with dread that someday one of MY characters should come looking for me- they're Vicious! Well, except for Haas, he's really a nice guy, and Carolyn will certainly forgive me someday for the chopper ride...I hope.) Personally, I think he's letting you off easy with a few sucking chest wounds and a downright frigid partner.

I can understand how you might feel somewhat denigrated by the "My Characters" reference, however, it comes to be because, for some strange reason, only we Writer Types can interact directly with them in 20th Century America. Everyone else is "JAFO" (ask Max or Illy what that means.) as far as their lives are concerned. For instance, I cannot affect your life with what I write, because I don't have the same key that Kaichi does. Hence, when your life is onstage, I am JAFO, and Kai is the only one able to have an effect. Here in the land of Messages, we can interact, but it won't have any impact on your life "Onstage", Kai, on the other hand, has that ability (if he so chooses to use it.) Thus, you are "His Character". It's all very metaphysical and confusing from here...
