Thank you all for making ROCR number 2 in the Funny Papers list. Some thought that we should be number 1, but that's a matter I don't want to go into now:)

However, chances are that the Funny Papers list may be dying - their button exchange has already been shut down. Also, because of the same situation that makes some think ROCR should have been number 1, cartoonists have been moving away from FP to a new site - which is why ROCR's lead on the number 3 increased so much in the final week of the campaign, and is holding steady even now.

There's nothing to it. We'll have to try again, on the new list, just to prove it wasn't a fluke. Vote here:

and in early March, I'll put up some special strip for voters again...

Coming up from 25th.
The site just took ages to load when I clicked on it then.
I'd better join that beastie too - beat the rush.

Oh and they're prudy and one's comic has to be Suitable for Under 17s.
We shall see if they kick me off for Unsuitableness.

Really? I missed that in their terms. Could be just an excuse for kicking the likes of us out...

So I checked, and it's true. Why all these new-fangled PHP systems insist on creating pages with tiny white print on black background (very bad for legibility) I don't know.

OK. Let's all get this strip, and The Pantheon, to the top 10 before those prudes terminate them. If we get high up enough, we may be able to raise a stink. After all, I was invited to join the list. What's that good for if I wasn't gonna be allowed to actually join it?

In the mean time, we should look for a more suitable list, and keep up out profiles at the Funny Papers for as long as that lasts. To that end, here's that button again:
<A HREF="http://www.thefunnypapers.com/topcgi/topsites.cgi?rocr">
<IMG SRC="http://www.thefunnypapers.com/graphics/fpvote3.gif" BORDER=0></A>

...gee, us mature comics artists are really at a disadvantage. Can't even put nekkid chicks in the Keenspace Freebie book either

While I'm at it, here's the FP button for the Pantheon.

<A HREF="http://www.thefunnypapers.com/topcgi/to ... i?pantheon" TARGET="_BLANK"><IMG SRC="http://www.thefunnypapers.com/graphics/fpvote3.gif" BORDER=0></A>

Click that too!

Hey, thanks for that! I got lazy and took my Funny Papers button off Pantheon's main page. I may have to put it back on.

I did wonder why Topwebcomics was dominated by little sprite-based Megaman comics. They're probably the only ones our illustrious hosts consider suitable.

Though when I read the warning, I just dismissed it as a reasonable attempt to prevent porn sites from adding themselves to the list. Indeed, it may prove to be just that.

But I wouldn't be surprised if there's some illustrious Moral Arbiter out there trying to define comics as the sole domain of kiddies.

As for the ban on naked ladies..
They're warping the minds of a whole new generation, making nudity naughty like that. I mean, it's taken me years to convince myself that nudity is just nudity, it's not necessarily "naughty"..
I say draw a picture of Kel with no clothes on peering over the top of a giant fig leaf.

Actually, that's probably the real reason. But in that case, it's very poorly worded.

Egads! I used the word "illustrious" twice in quick succession!
And I call myself a good writer!

Who are these people in the banner? I don't recognize any of them in the current comic.

Guys/Girls,

We're lagging behind Sinfest on the funnypapers site! Last day of the month of course, so what'll be the use of bringing this up now is a good question...

Hmmm, don't let it happen again

Having the voting buttons at the top of the page seems to work better. Currently #2 at Top Web Comics (with a very slim margin down and a huge gap up).

Yeah. I do wonder how much of this casual readers are willing to tolerate though.

I won't keep the buttons up forever, in any case

Hmmm, in 1024/768 only the top of the strip is shown on loading the page - and the top right corner is totally empty  Resizing the buttons just a bit might make them less obnoxious - don't know if they'll be pressed as much then, though...

I need to scroll to get to this immensely interesting thread. That cannot be right.

It would seem ROCR and Striptease (what is the difference, would a very casual observer, i.e. one that knows the images of the one and the name of the other, say) are in a neck and neck race.

As they say in the Netherlands: RD! (Which stands for Reinder Dijkhuis or Regel Dat ('Fix it!'), whichever you want.)

I was unfamiliar with that abbreviation:)
But anyway. There'll be another voter incentive thingummy soon-ish. Because there's a big pile of archive material coming up!
