I just got a print in from VNU publishers for a Jan, Jans en de Kinderen strip written by me. It will run in Libelle #50 of this year. This will be the second time I got a script used for what is probably the Netherlands' most-read weekly strip. Writing this famous strip is great for my ego and good for my wallet, but I was startled, once again, to see that my script had been thoroughly rewritten... Anyway, it will be read by half a million people and make my mother proud, so it's well worth it.And I just got a third script approved...BTW, I wrote the 7th installment of Floor in a 10-minute frenzy, and it marked the first time I was really happy with a Floor script. The editor was very pleased too. I do think I will be able to turn it into a good strip before the first year is over <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/smile.gif"> The editor was very pleased too.------------------

Jan Kruis sold the rights (for a lot of money!) and retired in 1999. The strip is now done by a studio which includes a pal of mine, Gerben Valkema. Gerben invited me and Sven van der Hart into the studio where we met Daan Jippes who was then the art director, and tried to get some of our ideas in. I succeeded so well that my first contribution was the first studio-produced Jan,Jans to appear in Libelle but I haven't been able to turn that into a regular gig yet <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/frown.gif">------------------

I can't recall the issue off-hand but it was reprinted in book 26.------------------
