How many of you are Keenspot Premium subscribers?
I've got several different reasons for asking, but I'll hold off on the explanations until I hear from you
------------------

Yeah. No one seems to be on KS Premium. So why are you asking?
------------------

The reason I asked was two-fold:
1. The Keenspot Premium service covers Keenspace comics, making them ad-free. I've seen this used as a selling point for the service. But... Keenspace creators don't get any of the money. I don't want to point fingers and say that this is dreadfully unfair. I can think of many reasons why it's unfeasible to share with 1500 Keenspace creators, many of whom have tiny shares in the total audience. But it still bothers me somehow.... if I could prove that many of my readers used the service, I could make a better case for at least some of us getting paid.
2. There are features I would like to add that ads can't pay for, but a subscription service would. Most notably, having full storylines on single, scrolling pages so people can open a storyline, brew a cup of coffee, and sit back to read a full story. Again, if I insisted on the Keenspace people making this possible, I'd better be able to prove that it would have a user base.

------------------

Well, we never got any money from the ads on the Keenspaces, so why should there be a difference with the premium service?
Well, not never.. there was the 50,000 club at one time for the Spacers, but no longer.
I do like the full storyline idea, though, Reinder.... you comic geniuses are always thinking!! ^__^
Hm... full storylines in one page? That would take long to show up. I'm thinking, maybe you should just give the reader the option to download the whole thing in Zip format. Just a thought.
------------------

I put that second ad there. It's for a fantasy comics exchange that has some comics that I'd recommend in any case (including one or two that aren't primarily on Keenspace). As compensation, I may soon drop the Fantasy Herald button which sometimes shows commercial ads and sometimes points to the wrong site.
I didn't really have the inspiration for a redesign that properly integrates the fantasy webcomics exchange, so I stuck it in the most obvious place. One day I may change the logo because it doesn't exactly reflect my current skill level.
My brother pointed out that I might be able to make a few bucks through Doubleclick by myself now (he mentioned a figure that was a lot higher than I'd expected). I'm reluctant to put more ads on the site (they're annoying, I may have to swat popups and it would sabotage Keenspot Premium) but even a small amount of money could make a lot of difference right now.
Maybe I should push the Premium service a bit more on the homepage, anyway? I'd rather work towards being able to go that road and help wean Keenspot/Space off advertising altogether.
------------------
