Furfire - the animated series

My long time dream is to make furfire into an animated series (Kira: yes yes!! ) i got this in my email and thought would post it here cause it sounded so cool:)

'hello my name is Robert ingram aged 16 from Cardiff U.K. and i saw your Brilliant site on my P.c. screens (3 of them) all running Windows 95 and why don't you get all the people together that like this and try and ask Hanna-Barbara or someone to make a animated series of this or perhaps a film about the crew visiting Planet earth and try and take over it. I could be the American General that orders the guns to be fired etc. Savrin Furfire could use his Magic Powers and take out my tanks/Battleships/aircraft. Mr President (Ronald Reagan the current President) ordering the firing of the Nuclear Missile to take out their Space Ship but to no avail '

whats everybody idea on what would be a good plotline for a furfire animeted movie or series?

Did that guy say Roland Reagen is the current president? o.O And I don't think hanna-barbera makes cartoons anymore...

Annnyway, I think, I don't think Furfire would make a good movie...a series, however, I can see. Yes. Yes I can. Just convert the comic into 30 minute animated series and I'll watch it everyday! ^^

in my opinion, the Furfire cast fits best in their current storyline.

I can honestly say it is a bad idea to try to take a created cast and story and try to turn it into an animated series intended for mass consumption. By the time such a project is approved the concept, characters, setting and story will be changed to something bland enough to be considered a 'sell-able product'. Don't do that to something you've already invested so much into.

There is nothing more wrenching then watching someone have their 'baby' tinkered with and chopped by a bunch of suits who have no real idea what they are seeing but want their personal agenda expressed in the product. Profit and politics mean more than story development, engaging characters and intrigueing plotlines.

Actually I agree with Andrick. I would hate to see the storylines chopped up to make 30 minute tidy segments. So much of the character interaction would be lost and there would likely be no real dialogue. I also have trouble imagining how the cast would be manipulated to make what viewers would consider an "amusing" cartoon. Much of what has been coming out lately with a few notable exceptions has been somewhat contrived, cookie-cutter schlock that lacks premise and an ongoing story line. I would hate more thananything to see that happen to Furfire.

Then again, I would own every single action figure.

i have to agree in areas - (some of the cartoons that have becoming out lately arnt top quailty execpt for a few good ones (ie: invader Zim, Samuri jack) but i would still like to see Furfire animated - as long as it keeps the characters the way they are and keeps to the orginal storyline - thou there are somethings i can do in comic that you cant do in animation

But how'd be its animation style? I mean, it'd be like Japanese style, very detailed, but very stop, or like American style, weird body, but good animation?

Angie seems to have a style all her own. It will be her style. There will be some anime references, i.e, sweatdrops and veins and such, but it will be souly her own style.

And question, what do you mean by 'very stop'? Do you mean jerky? If you look at DBZ as you're only example, then yes, this is true. But you were to say, look at Kenshin or Akira or Cowboy Bebop, then this is as far from the truth as you can be.

Each animator has their own kind of style. If you want to generalize all American animation as just Tiny Toons/Loony Toons style, then yes, all American shows feature very toony characters with slap stick humor. But what about such shows like, say, Thunder Cats, or Jackie Chan Adventures, or Samurai Jack or Invader Zim? If you compare each of the shows you'll no doubt notice all the styles at EXTREMLY different. You cannot generalize all American animation just by one type of show. Each are different.

I hate it when people do this with anime. They see a few hentai shows, or a shoujo, and then they think all anime is tentical rape or girls with over sized breasts in skimpy clothes. Anime isn't a genre or a style. It's simple animation. It has many genres within itself, and many styles. Compare Rumiko Takehashi's(Ramna 12, Inu-Yasha) work to CLAMP( Rayearth, Card Captor Sakura, X/1999) or Hayao Miyazaki's work(Mononoke Hime, Tanori no Totaro) to Yuu Watase's(Fushigi Yuugi). BIG difference, eh?
Not only in style, but in genre.

Lesson; for the love of GOD, don't generalize animation to one style, one genre. If you watch a Bruce Willis film, is it safe to say all American films are action-packed bang-bang shoot-em-up films? Nope. So don't. 'tisn't right.

Some explanations: I didn't remember anyother Anime to put there, I only remembered DBZ, but I know there're lots of Anime series that work differently from DBZ, and I NEVER thought Anime like ya said, Zina. TRUE! Same for American shows. I only remembered Tiny Toons, and I know other cartoons that're VERY different from the WB show. And since ya mentioned Jackie Chan Adventures, I guess it'd work for FF. Of course, with Silverfox's style.
