ok chad told me to write a rant, and i was thinking about it, and i think i should address gun issues, so let me fire it up.In this day in age people are stuck in a sick mentallity, we have forgotten tradition, respect and honor, there was a time when kids could could take guns to school, so they could hunt on there way home, if someone tried to do that today they would have a swat team surrounding him. this was in a time when there was no "home invations" or "car jackings" so what happend? well in 1978 canada started gun control, since then crime has gone up 158% sure there are other factors in that number, but for a example last summer Australia "disarmed" the population all guns owned by private citizens were taken away and distroyed, and since then crimes involving firearms has gone up 37% in one year!!! But that does make sense because if i was a criminal and i had a gun and i was about to rob a house i would think twice if there could be a gun in that house, but if you knew there was no firearms in that house hold it would be alot easier to pull a "home invation" you see? it makes sense.As for people here in canada who are against guns, you people make me sick, you have forgotten about tradition in this country, and you are small and have no fucking soul, so you can go on eating you fuckin granola and revolting tofu and keep trying to save the fucking trees but just don't cross me you miserable sons of bitches.......to be continued.

Wow, the first serious rant posted here with lots of good, thought out points. Recently I've been doing research on the Wild Western days of North America for a new comic (soon) and every man had a gun. Be it, most never used them in the way they were shown in movies but non the less, they had guns for their protection and to help do their job. The government likes to say that crime has gone up since the gun control act just because of growing rates of poverty. I doubt thats the reason. If you were to break into my house but then later found out I slept with a revolver by my bed, would you still have the balls to do it? I think not. I hate those anit-gun people too...its not like those with guns like to shove them in their faces. Once again thanks to a few idiots, our rights to a firearm have been bastardized.------------------

I actually agree with ash, everyone used to have guns and now all of a sudden we aren't allowed them. I think that it is all bullshit how you have to register them and if you don't you get a huge fucking fine i mean who cares, I feel safer knowing that if someone comes in my house we can try and scare 'em off or something

I actually think guns are kwl. I don't think that killing people is fun or anything but once in awhile takin a gun and shooting things is kwl, even if it is tin cans that you are pretending are someone you hate.but all in all GUN LAWS LICK ASS SO FUCKING BAD ALL THOSE PEOPLE CAN GO TO HELL.

last time i checked the majority of gun reg. laws were out there to prohibit the sale of assault rifles. i'm all for personal ownership of handguns, shotguns and hunting rifles as long as someone takes the proper precautions (training, practice and reasonable safety measures if they have a family) but can you honestly tell me that people have a NEED for a fully automatic AK-47 (or M-16) or other some such weapon? while we're at it, lets sell live grenades to the public as well.i think a waiting period is fine... helps people cool off if they are about to commit a crime of passion. built in tigger-locks? hell, it'd hopefully help those who have kids protect their children from accidental firings. background checks.. eh... if a person who has a record wants a gun they'll find a way to get it so background checks are kind of pointless. now what'd really be slick is those smart guns like in cyberpunk. ones that only respond to you via some kind of hand implant. <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/wink.gif">. ------------------

I usually do not like to respond to such posts but I feel the need to help show you the way. Ash, people outlawed guns to protect you and yourself and loved ones. How can some man kill you if they do not have a gun? Second, crime is on the rise due to the down-fall of society, not because of lack of guns. Karen is right, guns just cause harm. I really doubt God would want you to use guns. ------------------

I have to agree, I dont know if we all need m-16s. I think its nice for the gun collector but for the regualy folk who like hand guns, I think we can do without. I think Karen has those views on guns because she lived in a war-torn country for a while moving here (ya, she used to live in L.A too)
but people should not blame guns for deaths. People kill people, not guns. Same as for other things, dont blame the music and dont ever fucking touch my video games. Because I'm good at Perfect Dark does not mean that in real life if I was to pick up a uzi I got accuratly take out everyone. If youve evr bad mouthed guns, trying going to a shooting range. Its fun shooting shit. Even hunting is fun (although im sure many are against it)

I do however stand by the fact that all guns do is cause harm. They were intended to do so. They aren't just for decoration.

my point is that guns cause harm and it's about looking at the bigger picture.

I feel so out-fucking numbered on this forum. I mean every girl that posts here is against all this stuff but i'm not. Our world needs guns for one reason or another. It is not the guns that kill people it is the person who pulls the trigger. Yea sure the waiting period helps to let a person cool down if they are wanting to hurt someone that second, but the laws that let police or whoever come in to your house to check and see if you have unregistered guns is a fucking piece of shit. I mean that in itself is invading someones privacy.
And anyways no matter what the government and the police try and do there will always be guns sold on the streets and people being killed.
