I'm not sure what's going to happen with The Nolans. I've got some good story ideas and some good gags, but I just don't want to draw them.
I'm thinking that after almost 12 years, I'm getting bored with The Nolans. I'm going to be doing some tinkering with the comic. I dunno. Maybe this is it... I guess I'm just sick and tired of losing out to awful comics that are popular only because they show "boobies"
Anyway, whatever...... yeah........
Just stay tuned, I guess. I'll decide soon.

Three things to keep in mind, Josh:

1. Genius is underappreciated until it's really noticed. And even then it's sometimes still underappreciated. The key is persistence.
2. One word: Bribes.
3. WE LOVE YOU, MAN!

Well, maybe the last one isn't 100% unanimous, but you know. Or something; I hoped I phrased that right...

Still, it's your comic, and your decision. Try to buck up, bucko. And chin up, uh...chinno...

That's too bad. I was hoping for the next story line.

If your gonna close it, at least try to submit the thing to keenspot. I wanna see what happens, and what's the worst that can happen? It stays the same

But seriously, if you're short on ideas, I'll be glad to give you a few.

And if you decide to give up The Nolans, I have two words for you.... Lieber Man Or some new Icebox or Fresh Meat would be nice.

If you're just frustrated, try taking some time off or work on something else. Take all the time you need. But whatever you do, don't doubt yourself. You have a gift. Don't take it for granted.

Man, that's a pity to hear. Totally understandable, but a pity.
I've been promoting the crap out of it at every opportunity. Not that my comic is exactly a top referrer of anything, but still.
The Nolans is one of the only five online strips I read regularly.
At least say you won't bow out of comics for good!

It's a pity you feel this way, Josh - You know my views. It'd be a tragedy if you decided to give up, considering the talent that you do actually have. (trust me, it takes a kind of talent to do what you do consistently).

Although, I agree with the others, Before you give up the ghost, at least try and submit it to Keenspot. Or, Ask someone else to submit it, if you're afraid of The Curse Of The Self-Submitted KeenSpace Strip. I'd be willing to do it, if I was told how, and I'm sure that just about everyone here would likely be willing to do the same.

Besides, I've always liked The Nolans. I've never been really able to support it in any really material way (It's times like these I wish EFTPOS was net-enabled...), but it has been one of my favourite comics for a while.

I've seen a few people simply give up, despite having a compatible sense of humour, or a great artistic talent, and I always feel it's a crying shame when they do. But, in the end, it is your choice. Just remember that despite the low hits, at the very least they are consistent hits. Those that come here tend to stay here, which must say something about this strip...

Stop selling yourself short. Hell, the only comments I've gotten about any of my fanfics have been from 3 of my friends from Andthen. One of them I know in real life and the other 2 are staff. I'd give my life to have your talent, and you are just going to give up just because things have been looking low? Geeze, I mean come on! You expect the comic to be big on its own. It takes ALOT of work in order to be big! You just dont wake up and all of the sudden your famous. If the world worked like that, trust me, your talent would end up in the garbage. If the world were like that, it'd all be too easy. It takes work and work and more work to find happiness and giving up isnt the way to find it. Dont settle for a job because of the money, whats the point of having that money if you arent happy? Why settle for whats their instead of living life to the fullest and taking chances?

(BTW, you dont know me, I'm a friend of Duke's and I'm posting this beause the dude friggin idolizes you because the best comic he can come up with is a copy and paste job and the only place people will view it is on that lowly snowflake studios site... Just so you all know, it probably WILL be a few months before I come back, if at all.
But I will say this... if you haven't read the archives yet... do so now.

Geez, you're STILL thinking about this!? Come on already! Why not try and actively get your comic out there! Try submitting some strips to some newspapers. Local, National, whatever. Try doing some guest strips for some Keenspot comics (such as Real Life, Avalon, and RPG World), which will probably result in The Nolans getting linked. Pimp the site as much as you can whenever you can! I'm not exactly in a fanfic mood right now (which is kinda obvious considering that my main 3 haven't been updated in almost 2 months...), but I will get more chapters up (probably after this hectic college streak heads out.)!

Duke's got a point, Josh. The comic's not going to become the well-known uber-hit it so rightly deserves to be if you don't put some serious muscle into MAKING it well-known.

well no offense to those who think differently here but in my opinion i always thought doing a guest comic for a comic (popular or not) just to get a link is pretty cheap. Fanart and guest comics are like rewards you're giving the artist for entertaining you with a strip you enjoy....or cause you're helping your comic mates out. The nolans has entertained me so much that i've been planning a guest comic for a little while now (just got to find the time inbetween school, work and comics to get it done).

So that's my spiel. My point would have probably been conveyed easier if i hadn't been listening to Australian Ska while writing this ^^
