"Black Eyes are sooo Cute!"
I note that she was drawn in a 'Leafs jersey, while her victim appears to be a Senator.
Continuing our feud with Josh, are we?

#1: I am enjoying the Vern comics. I've enjoyed her spunk from the beginning, and I'm glad you are giving her weekly strip time.
#2: Damonk, buddy, have Max's lectures distilling Nielsen on usability bounced off your skull? You have made Vern about as difficult to get to as is webifically possible. All you links at Framed that claim to point to "the latest" Vern point to the Vernmain page, and that page doesn't even have a link to the latest strip.
Joe Nadeau, if you are reading, would you please help our poor brother Frank with this crippled site design? He has proven with Vern that he can't do it without you. (Joe is the one who has helped you before, isn't he?)
Damonk, buddy, keep devoting yourself to writing and drawing the funny stuff, and do call in help to cover your weak sides. We'll all be happier for it.
With appreciation and respect,
John

Hi John!
#1) I'm glad that you like her -- she was too cool to NOT have her own llittle comic, don't you think? ^_^
#2) Actually, i thought that the temporary VERN site (i applied for her own account last night) was pretty slick in design. The main vern page has a HUGE button that says "click here to read the latest VERN", so i don't know you're missing that. ^_^
But I will be adding a nav bar to that page soon, too, so there'll be at least one more link to the latest vern comic for ya... ^_^
And as soon as she gets her own site, the latest vern will be on the main page, too. Unfortunately, Keenspace is SLOW to give out its accounts, so i may not get mine for like 6-8 weeks...
But again, John, it's ALWAYS a pleasure to hear from ya -- and let me know if you really DON'T see the big latest vern button -- maybe there's a problem with your browser, or i've scripted it wrong somehow...?

Damonk, I apologize. Apparently I'm blind. All is as you say.
Keep up the good work, while I crawl back into my little hole here and appreciate it.
John

Then again, maybe I'm not blind.
Take yesterday's Framed (11/11), which is still up this morning, BTW. It has two prominent links to Vern: the "Read the latest Vern" button and the panel with Vern telling us to click to get to the "newest" strip. BOTH of these buttons are linked to vernmain instead of to newvern.
*That* may be why, when I saw the "Read the latest Vern" button on vernmain I didn't expect it to really take me to the newest strip. I'd already used that button and it didn't go to the latest strip!
I'll still chase your wacky acadian links all over the site to find our tart young mama, but I think you could fine-tune this stuff to work a little more as advertised.
Yours in nit-picky consistency,
John

heh.
but you'll also notice that the reason that they are all linked to vernmain now is because i switched the format around and removed the newvern page, so there would be less pages to go through to get to the latest comic -- the latest vern will ALWAYS appear on the main page now, as per yours and scrubbo's suggestion. ^_^
and like i said elsewhere, if i ever get the Keen acocunt, the comic will also always appear on the main page to avoid too much chasing around ^_^
just trying to help and make things easier for ya, is all ^_^
(i only changed this yesterday, so prior to that, the "read the latest vern" DID bring you to the newvern page -- now the newvern page doesn't exist anymore)

<sigh> As before, it appears that I am one step behind and one clue short. I shouldn't doubt you, Frank.
Thanks for the great comic. I'll shut up now and just enjoy it.
John

john, i hope that you NEVER shut up, because i NEED you to keep me on my toes, man, like you've been doing ever since you FIRST sent me a letter way back in January (in which you actually talk about Vern, go figure!)!
