Damn, but I am loving it!
Kare Kano is just the most impressive ppiece of anime I have seen so far -- who'd have thought that it would not be an action, or a myth, or a mech series that would get me, but a teen romance-type story????
It's not even anime to me. It's perfectly conceived moving sequential art!!!
And the damn theme songs? I can't get them out of my head. Ever.
Both of them take turns switching around.
One question, tho, and I'm sure I could google the answer if I wanted to take the time, but first I thought that I would ask you fine folk...
Do you know if Kare Kano is based on a manga series, or if it is an "original aniscreenplay?"
I look forward to Nick Yu's weekly Kare Kano updates like all get-out.
Damn it's good.

*shrugs* I never go for straight out romances... what makes love interesting is when it is ignited in the heart of events. When love is birthed in the midst of great turmoil, then it is an interesting story.
Of course, by contrast, my relationship is a boring story. Never mind.

heh.
thing is, its not the romance that hooks you in this -- heck, the two main characters "get together" in the 4th episode!
what gets you first is the incredible conceptual art.
what gets you second is the pacing.
what gets you next is the clever humour.
what gets you then is the wonderful humaniztion of the characters... all quirky, yet completely believable.
by this time, you're already hooked, and all the other wondrous subtleties just latch on and suck you in, you of course, willingly letting yourself go to the story.
...
trust me, lostfactor, when i say that i'm not a "romance" kind of person... but then again, maybe this series isn't a romance.
it's just animated perfection.

AWW, SirF! You are special just the way you are, tomodachi! You are in no need of spatulas; you must use what is unique to YOU. (Well, despite the fact my weapon of choice and name is ripped off from Ranma 1/2 ... <IMG SRC="
