Food for thought:

Omar Bin Laden was kicked out of Saudi Arabia by his own relatives who considered him a black sheep who always wanted to kick the Americans out of Saudi Arabia.
But then Omar Bin Laden was discovered by the CIA in Pakistan. They financed him and gave him all the weapons that he needed to defeat the Russians in Afghanistan. And he did it too.
He turned out to be one of the best generals this world has ever seen.
What he wants now is to return to Saudi Arabia and kill off all those relatives of his who disowned him. He wants to take over Saudi Arabia himself. According to him, he's not only one of the royal family but the one BEST FIT to run the place as king. It's a kingdom.
You must understand, this guy knows how to play chess. He won ALL the chess games with the Russians in Afghanistan. Make no mistake about it: The Talibahn are not going to turn him over to us. HE RUNS THE TALIBAHN.
He is persistent. He tried to blow up the Trade Center once before and failed. This time he did it. He knows the consequences of this and he KNOWS we will react by bombing Kabul. He's counting on this reaction. It's part of his planning. He needs most of the world's 1.3 billion Moslems to be mad at the U.S. He NEEDS more Moslem hatred toward the U.S. before he can destabilize the present setup and take over in Saudi Arabia.
He wants control of Saudi Arabia and the world's oil. His intentions are to return and take control of Saudi Arabia himself. If he can do this then he has control of the armed forces of Saudi Arabia. Since these forces are 40 times as large as the United Arab Emirates, then he will advance on the Emirates and FREE them from their ruler.
Omar Bin Laden wants to become another Saladin. Saladin was the one who finally killed off all the Crusaders.
He then will have almost 75% of the world's proven oil reserves and gasoline will then cost Americans $20 a gallon IF THEY CAN EVEN GET ANY GASOLINE.
Human lives don't mean anything to this guy. I'm afraid those Trade towers were merely Omar Bin Laden's opening move in his chess game gambit to gain control of the world's oil supply.
Robert Duncan

.......In other words, Omar Bin Ladin may be trying to provoke a massive retaliation from the US in order to kick-start this Jihad! A good reason to pull in our horns.......
BTW: Is this Forum in Canada? (Virtually speaking)

What's worse is, I've heard that Bin Laden basically still works as a general for hire.
Meaning that if we bomb Afghanistan for harboring him, someone else (Saddam Hussein was suggested) will be laughing into his sleeve. I mean, what a deal! Terrorise the US and then after that, make them waste time and resources bombing a place that's already hell on earth. And if we don't catch Bin Laden, whoever hired him can hire him again.
------------------

You're all missing a single point:
It's highly unlikely that the "DroppaBombonem" tactic is going to be used. Airstrikes work best against CONVENTIONAL targets.
As a Terrorist, Bin-Laden is NOT a conventional target. It would have about as much effect as the bombing of rice-paddies had during our involvement in Vietnam.
Zero.
To Neutralize this type of threat, one must first deprive him of the million$ of dollars needed for a man of this sort to do what he did.
Then, you remove his other supports: eliminate politicians favorable to his cause.
Eliminate his most trusted subordinates.
Kill his family.
Kill his friends.
Kill anyone he has ever turned to for aid.
Then, Kill him.
Slowly, by making him a fugitive that no-one will shelter, the reason being that if someone shelters him, they become the next target.
It's nastier and more personal than dropping bombs randomly, but, it sends a message.
