Um, wow. So...four years and 660 pages after I sat down and started, I'm finally done. Y'know, at one early point, I estimated that I might be finished at about page 300. Ha ha, how young and optimistic I was.

Anyway, WOOOOOO! FINALLY! That felt like it took forever. Not that I regret it, mind you. Thanks to you lot, I had a grand old time...with all the feedback and gift arts and general interest...you guys are awesome and I love you all. I wouldn't have made it past the tenth page without you. YES I KNOW THAT WAS SAPPY SHUT UP.

Now, to hurry up and finish my next comic so I can move on to my next, next comic.

...and then finish my next, next comic so I can move on to my next, next, next comic....

...gaaaaah...

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo! :o

Why do you hate me when I've shown you nothing but love, you never return my calls, you've "killed off" all my fancy fanart ideas, how am I supposed to make a faust memorial artsy thingy if you also kill off everyone what makes the jokes, in the end there was just me crying by the grave and a whole lot of empty chairs, and that just ain't right! :-?
I've sacrificed my digits and frontal lobe to the elder gods for you, I even gave my wallet to a hobo on the streets because he looked like you!
While he might've smelled suspiciously like whiskey and wee, the looks were so totally there!

Why Cthulhu, why oh whyyyyyy!?

Oh well, what's the next one gonna be about? :D

As NJ pointed out, it's a fantasy comic, so you know it's gonna be original. Hahaha. XD I hope it won't end up too cliched.

Anyway, here's a few characters from it:

Grey looks so cute in it (that IS Grey's design right? she seems more effeminate again now that she's a mere squire currently in waiting for her superior). And Regan looks like a woman on a mission (with substantial emotions)!
And Dietrich seems very happy (I think I see her in the role of antagonist to most of the cast members, there's something about her being the magic-wielder among all these swordsmen and women. Or it could be she's just the wiz/sorc of the group, or perhaps a summoner?).

On another note I can totally see someone stepping on Grey's face somewhere in the Kola or Archangel tundra while she's lying back down naked in the swamp after a wetjob or maybe burning down a few houses to get some practice in or knocking off a few rangers to get the attention.

Err... but I think I look even more forward to this new one!

Shiny newness! Relatively speaking.

Nope. She's an all new character with a different personality and everything. None of the characters from Atavism will be appearing in my next comic, if that's what you're asking. :)

subject line!

NO! IT CAN'T BE OVER

*pushes over Dawg's magazine racks*

ARGHHHHH

...

Also, congrats on finishing Atavism, you've done something that 99% of webcomic artists will never ever ever accomplish, and did it well.

The new fantasy comic is looking good. When will it be starting?

"In a few months time" is all I'm able to commit to at the moment. I want to have at least at least a month's worth of buffer to begin with (so, about twelve pages), and I'm rediscovering how slow I work when I have no concrete deadlines....

I've only started drawing the second page! AAAAAAAAAH! *runs around in circles*

Ackpth! I thought I posted in here.

Well, what can be said that hasn't been said? Atavism was a kick-ass comic, one of my top favorites since picking it up over two years ago. Congratulations on finishing, and I look forward to your next project.

And the one after that.

And the one after that.

We'll never let you stop ._.

eek don't look at me like that!!

Well, my next comic certainly has enough female characters for it. :o

Oh, I meant that her visual design seemed related to me, not their psycological or spiritual ones. I really like it, and I do also see the differences in the visual design. I really love this new comic of yours. It's super neat. ^^

PS. I hope you don't square the softer edges and facial curves of your characters (female in particular) this time over. I felt Grey looked ever so soft and neo-russki* (rather than the Swedish* or a really thin German* or blonde French*/-Acadian* girl look at the end) right when she met her new partner. Just a hope :).

Haha, they do look kinda similar. I think it's the fringe that does it. I mean, I've been looking at the thumbnails for Atavism and Cerintha on Drunk Duck, and they look almost like the same character. XD

I can't really predict how my style's gonna evolve over time. For example, I didn't really notice that the faces of Grey and Sam had become less blobular and more angular over the course of three years until you pointed it out. We'll just see how it goes, eh?
