Unwanted trivia: the hardest part for me was doing the bottom speech balloon in the first panel in NJ's style, combining several elliptical bubbles (like the top balloon). When working with a relatively large (for the scale of the panel) block of text like that, I'd normally just do a rectangular bubble with rounded corners, since there's a pretty easy tool for those in the software that I use for fanmixes (Photoshop Elements 5.0). I'm sure that the multiple-elliptical-bubble technique gets easier with practice, though.
