Opinions on the t-shirt design?
Okay, if you havn't seen it yet, please go here: http://www.cafepress.com/exploitation/
Well, what do you think about it? Should I have done one in the art style I normally use for the comic instead? Should I have put some of the other characters on it? I mean, after drawing the strip for the last few months, I just felt like doing something a little different

Hmmm...
That T-Shirt is pretty sexy, but it's not something I would buy. If I would to buy an EN T-Shirt, it would have to feature the actual characters.
Although that mug is pretty cool. Too bad I've had my eyes set on another mug from a completely different online comic's store. Oh well.
...
BTW, this is the 200th post. That's pretty cool.
------------------

The picture on the front is well-drawn and well-CGed. the basic problem is that it really has nothing to do with the online comic. The style of the picture is even different from your Adam-Warren-like-style that you use in your comics. My suggestion is to 1) feature the two characters in your comic and 2) use the same style of art that you use in your comic. Doing something different is always cool, but if you want to sell merchandise related to the comic, you're really limited by what you can do. Your site logo with Bimbo complaining about her back would make a great T-shirt, for example

If I may make a bold suggestion, having on the front "exploitation now" in big letters and a color panel featuring your two characters engaged in witty banter on the back would be a crowd-pleaser in my humble opinion.
I sorta agree, the t-shirt is wicked but I think you should bring it in further down the line...I'd love to see a shirt of today's strip, the goth Ralph rules. On the back have it say "Exploitation Now: The High School Years" or something like that....of course you do have the cameos so you'd probly have to change those or cut the owners of the chars in on the profit. But yeah basically what clay said, use the actual chars from the comic and I think maybe once people are actually buying lots of stuff from you bring in the current t-shirt. I'd buy something but a) my parents wont let me buy over the net and b) i have no money.

------------------

Okay, okay... I get the message; don't do experimental designs for the t-shirt. Yeah, I'll probably make a new one featuring all the characters and in more normal art style some time next month or just as soon as I come up with an idea for the damn thing.
Heh, and as for the 'a design you could wear in public' part... don't get your hopes too high up, I seem to lack the ability to tell what
Well, as long as Bimbo isn't buck naked on it, I can wear it. = )
Heck, I used to wear around a "ConFURence" shirt that featured a female animorph wearing a very TIGHT top and a miniskirt that left little to the imagination.
I like Ralph the most, he's just so cool! So if he's to proper scale with Bimbo (Not shadowed out in the background or something) you'll have a winner as far as I'm concerned. = )
------------------

If the idea is to make money off the shirts, then get some outside opinions on the design before going with one (like you did this one), but don't commit until you've got a design that more than a handful will feel comfortable wearing in public.
If, on the other hand, your intention is to make an artistic statement or shock others, then go ahead and draw whatever you like.
Your choice.

Aww, I love the character developement stuff. = )It's nice knowing a little more about the characters we see.
... that, and I can safely direct my friends here for this story arc without them smacking me over the head and asking me if I've gone insane.
This is my quote (I said this to someone):
"I was offended on so many levels.. I bookmarked it immediately. "
I actually love the strip now. = ) I'd stick it in my comic links page if my actual page didn't target a younger audience. o_o
I might still, with a parental advisory though. It's such a neat comic. = )
------------------

Yeah, mainly it was just because I had been wanting to make a tshirt and for lack of a better idea, I thought that the pinup I had just done would work pretty well for the design. But maybe I'll post a few rough sketches of the next one beforehand.
------------------

Because sex sells...
...Okay, okay, I know there hasn't really been much sex in it lately, but I promise... just as soon as the nasty boring character development stuff gets done with, I'll add all sorts of naked bisexual ninja anime girls and crap to make you all happy.

Damn right. Good character development and dialogue is the key to long-term readership. If you *just* have sexy chicks with big boobs, you'll get loads of people who look and say "wow!". Then they move on. I don't read (and it *is* read) EN for the boobs. I read it for the witty dialogue (sometimes
and the zany characters.
TheGreenReaper (Laurence Parry)
