Comics Not Updating - Something is clearly wrong

With mine (mansionofe.comicgenesis.com) at the moment it appears I have to manually order an update through siteadmin, or nothing happens. (Tho the siteadmin updater worked fine.) Also, it doesn't affect me directly, but the advertisements still aren't loading.

Okay, something really strange is happening with mine (hellsing.comicgen.com).

The strips are disappearing from workspace/comics as their dates arrive; I checked shortly after midnight Eastern (the scheduled update time) on May 25, and everything through 20100525.png was gone. But they're not appearing on the calendar, the pages don't exist in the archive, and the index page still shows the strip from last Wednesday.

I'm so glad I made AutoGenesis log problems into each account. You had a June 31st, 2008 comic, and June only has 30 days.

Hmmm... something's odd in our timing. I'm checking our time zone info on here; AutoGenesis should auto-adjust to different time zones.

EDIT: I'm also testing with my (neglected) comic strip. I need to see when the overnight updates fire off.

Well, Wednesday's update went up automatically today....I think the automatic updating problem may be resolved for me.

I still have other issues, though, like the disappeared newsbox.

I'm having problems updating too. I've tried everything in this forum, but it still doesn't seem to work. It's still stuck on the page from the 19th. It took me a while to think to look here for a solution.

I have it set as "PG", also I noticed that the comic previous to the one up now does not load the next and last buttons, and when i go back to the comic before that, the next button shows up but brings me forward to today's comic.

Yeah, I'm having the same problem as Geoduck. Ads don't load. Forsaken Stars is rated as Web 14. How is the rating significant?

The ratings are used to determine which sites your newsbox will appear on; for example, a newsbox ad for a comic that's rated MA-15 won't appear on G-rated sites. I'm guessing there might be a spanner in the works somewhere in the code that handles this process.

.....on that note, the newsbox is showing up fine my WEB-MA comic, whereas it has disappeared from my WEB-14 comic.

I just did a full update through QuickAdmin, and it all went through fine, comics now all up to date. Just one thing though: My comic now appears to be by some bloke called "ARRAY(0xd130c0)".

That's a bug. Let me know your comic's username or URL, and I'll fix it in AG.

Ah, mine did that as well, but I changed the templates to say my name since the tag seemed to be broken. I don't know if that needs fixing or if it's fine the way it is. blindsight.comicgen.com

Mm, about that...for those of us who joined recently and can't access the proper SiteAdmin, is there a way to change in which time zone our comic updates, which midnight we use? Mine is set to Pacific...only there'z so darn many comics updating at that time that mine doesn't actually update until about 2 AM; I was thinking of switching to EST instead of PST (heck, I grew up in Vermont, anyway!), but I d'know how to do it.

Second question: how does one give one's comic an age-appropriate rating? Is that in the code somewhere and I've just missed it, or is there a website for this? I'd like to give my comic the appropriate designation... there've been a few suggestive references in it, but it's otherwise pretty darn PG. Like a Star Wars movie kind of PG.

Ugh, legacy code. Can't live with it, can't live without it. Bug #3 fixed. Run updates on both you two's comics and see if it shows properly.

Same problem here; you have a comic that's dated wrong. For you, it's the Nov 31'st, 2008 comic... um... November only has 30 days!

I better put this up on the notes: AUTOGENESIS IS PICKY ABOUT DATES. I'm half tempted to put in some diagnostic tools in QuickAdmin and a planned Control Panel.

I can tweak the time-zone setting, easily enough. I'm gathering up some info on a better Siteadmin, so hopefully I can push out a proper Control Panel.

The site raiting is currently in Siteadmin. I'll throw that on the list.
