How to set up RSS?

Okay, if this has been asked before, I apologize in advance, but I went through every FAQ and Wiki I could find, plus did a forum search and came up empty, so...forgive me; did my best not to be redundant.

*ahem* ANYway...

I pimped my comic offa my YouTube page (I have 1,200 YouTube subscribers; if even 10% read my comic after seeing a vid about it, that's still not a bad start!), and one of them asked if I'd have an RSS feed so they could just get new comics in their mailbox when they're up.
Well, I haven't the least clue in the world how to DO that...but I'd like to. To know and to do it, though I admit that I'm an amateur at best in HTML, and I have NO idea how complicated it is... I'm willing to give it my best, though, if somebody can direct me toward a FAQ or a How-To guide, or if ComicGenesis has it built in and I just need to enter a code or something and I've just completely missed it in my search for answers prior to posting this...

Anyway, thanks in advance for any help on that one... :)

Yeah, It's nice that the site makes one for you, but it's not exactly the nicest looking RSS ever. Do you know if there is a way to modify what gets put on the feed.

Yes.

The rss feed is created by a file named (very sneakily) rss.xml which sits on the root of your comic account.

If you use FTP to log in to your comic account and look in the public_html folder then you should see the rss.xml file. You should be able to download it, edit it to make it look pretty and then upload it back to the public_html folder. On the off-chance that the server won't let you upload it directly to the public_html folder then upload it to the workspace/webpages folder and it'll end up in the same place.

As to how to edit the rss.xml file in order to make it pretty - that I don't know. I'm not a big fan of rss and don't use them, though there are a number of tutorials floating around the net which you ought to be able to find and use easily. As far as I am aware, there are no CG-specific settings in the rss feeds to confuse users.

Hi everybody! :)

I have a problem with the rss feed of my webcomics (The Bess Effect & Mensch unserer Zeit). I have found the link to the rss of the comics, but it doesn't show the right updates. It's not linking to the newest but the second newest comic. Would be great if you could help me. Thank you! :D
