I'm trying to create my webcomic. I've created an FTP password and used the activation key, but for some reason it won't let me log in. So at the moment my comic is just blank.

can you log in to the ftp? thats where you'll do most of the work.
when did you sign up? it takes some time for everything to activate.

What type of FTP app are u using? Sometimes you have to adjust the settings. The one I use has to be set to FTP or it won't let me log in.

Is your site up?

I have no idea what an ftp app is, or how to configure any settings for it.
The site itself appears to be up though.

to use the FTP you need an FTP program or the web based ftp

My problem is that I registered in this forum with the same name as my comic. (Silly, I know, I'm a first-timer). I just would like to change my username so it doesn't confuse the server. Is a name change possible?

it should not cause any problems, just use your comic password in your ftp client and your forum password in siteadmin.

Hi, hopefully someone can help here..
http://mooneytheturtle.comicgenesis.com has been on a reeeeally long hiatus, last comic before now was 2001. Yeah.
So, I was able to log into SiteAdmin, but the comic name was something I wanted to change.
I tried many things to change it, long story short, there's now nothing there to edit, and the "comic name" is now blank.

Is this forum where I go to ask how get that fixed? Or who should I email?
Also, the comic auto updates sporadically.
I wouldn't mind this, if it always waited until at least midnight, but a few times it has updated at 6pm of the prior day.
Can this be fixed?

Have you tried refreshing after you changed the name and updating the comic?
And if the updates are irregular, it's an issue only an admin can fix... For now, try to adjust the autoupdate to a later hour so it doesn't bother you.

Yes, I've tried refreshing. I've also tried waiting a few days and trying again.
The problem I see is, under the "Comic name" column it's blank. Empty.
So there's nothing there to click on, so I can't edit anything.

When I click on "Add", it does add a new row up there, but the Comic name is still blank, so still nothing to click on.

I'm assuming this Site Admin is the only place I can edit the autoupdate hour?

Any other ideas I can try?

Looks like something's broken. I also have a bug in there. I have two comics on one account and one comic displays fine and the other is multiplied x3, including every field in the comic data. It's been like this for years so I wouldn't expect it to revert back to normal on it's own. You should contact Kisai about this.

OK. I just got the account 4 or five days ago. Does that mean I'm still waiting on a password to log into site admin?

Also, I have the FTP client loaded, it says my user name is good but the pass is no good, I cannot update the comic. Must I wait 7 days for the password?

You're supposed to create the password yourself (it looks like a lost pass recovery procedure). It's all covered here.

Thanks for the swift reply. Still seems to be a problem. I've typed in 3 different user names 9 different times over the past couple of days (looks like user malfunction) and each combo comes up with "Username not found! Contact a wrangler on the forums." ... I thought I used the exact password & username as the forums here... do I need to create a new account, or can admin manually unlock?

(Sorry, this was my first time using FTP's - ever.)

Yeah, Siteadmin should work with your forum name (remember that you should use your comic's details in the FTP client). I'd browse this topic and wait a bit more, there are delays sometimes. And by sometimes I mean often

Alright guys, looks like I'ma be that thorn in your side.

It's been well over a week and no action! The FTP Recognizes my username "Eric C" but will not accept ANY passwords I try. I believe I need manual assistance. I've tried RESETTING the password and I do NOT receive a reply email.

Something went horribly wrong. In most circumstances, I wouldn't really care and would just start a whole new account, but in this case, I cannot give up the name I've chosen. So, pleading with the site admin to unlock me! Send me my old pass or mail me a new one please! I cannot contribute to this awesome place without it!

Hi, I'm a newbie clearly. So it's a major mess to sign in!? I feel I got lucky with how fast my comic was approved but I can't access the FTP and I can create a forum for my comic how? I don't want the Admins. to think I'm lazy about doing the job I signed up for, I already have 22 weeks of comics planned so far ...I just can't load them it along with customizing every thing else related .

Yeah, I still can't log in either. I get a "530 authentication failed" message. So no new comic for anyone till I can get fixed!
