Explanation for forum/wiki/ads outage on 8/17

The forums server hard lockedup, required a powercycle, which then in turn required apache to be rebuilt along with php5, and glitches in the apache configuration. Please report any breakage.

On my comics site, the ***advertisement*** tag is not showing the Comic Genesis banner at the top of the page. I'm assuming its related to the outage, unless I did somthing wrong...

Your comic is showing the Ad code in the html so you don't need to worry - it's there.

Every so often, the Ad does not show up. But so long as you have the ***advertisement*** tag on your templates then you'll be fine.

Please notice I said "forums server" , any problems with tags not working are due to user-error of either misspelled tags, or attempting to put tags in files outside of /workspace/webpages

I saw "fourm /wiki/ads outage" and thought you were asking for people to report any issues, but you ment fourms issues.
