After about a year break from the site, I'm still having problems with the Login Admin. On the front page of CG there's still an out of date login button....why?
After a couple of worthless hours, I read in the faq that sometimes users get their forum accounts deleted for inactivity. That's all fine and good, but obviously I need the forum account to even ACCESS my site admin name and pass in the first place, and to ask these questions on the forum! If I was posting in a normal forum, then fine, delete me, but for some reason the login and the forums go hand in hand.
I really thought that these problems would be resolved by now, it's just so hard to believe that they arent.
Is there any way for me, the artist and writer, to access MY OWN comic strip? All I want to do is upload new comics, and maybe build on the current site. I was wondering if there is a delay in login, since I just re-registered on the forums? Anyway, I've spent hours typing in combinations of usernames and passwords(which there can only be a few combo's, I use basically the same everywhere), and looking up help.
I'm sorry but I'm very frustrated and just want to use the services this site provides. So, basically, what do I need to do to be able to log in?
Dan

Re: Back to ADMIN problems after long break
Hi Dan,
The most common obstacle to people logging in who have not been around for a while is the change to how the login works.
First, make sure that you log into the forums with Dlmcomics (capital "D"). The forums will let you in with "dlmcomics", but ut'll create an error.
Once you have logged into the forum with Dlmcomics, you should then be able to log into SiteAdmin with the same forum login details.
You should also be able to access your comic directly with an FTP program using your FTP username and password (the username will be the name of the comic and the password is whatever you had it previously set to).
If you want to make sure that your forum account is not deleted, all you need to do is make sure you have a few posts (like, 2 or more). It's only accounts with zero posts that are deleted (usually spam accounts).
Feel free to ask if you have any more problems.

Very good, Dr. that did the trick.
Thanks a ton, I appreciate it!

also, I did forget about the FTP access directly. We still can't change the FTP username, correct?

No, the ftp username can't be changed as it's the name of the site (as a sub-domain). If you want to change the name, you need to sign up for a new account.

I found this thread by the search, I'm having a similar issue. I created an account a while ago for my comic, and only now am I getting around to using it. Obviously I have a forum account if I'm here posting... Yet the exact same login info won't let me into site admin?
Edit: Ah nevermind it works suddenly... thanks.
