Autoupdate doesnt update on time... [solved]

Post by Oujisama »

I've set my comic data for 12:00AM, which is apparently the default for PST. But I don't see my updated after 12. In fact, I saw my updated comic at around 4:30pm the next day. And today, it hasn't updated at all and its 7pm. Its nothing about my workspace folder or anything, my comic is properly titled and in my workspace comic folder. Anyone know the problem?

The server is in a different physical place than it used to be so updates occur at the wrong time.

Come to think of it... there is no daylight savings time in GMT right? People reporting the wrong update time are probably in places that observe daylight savings time.

DST is only an hour difference, so it doesn't seem to be the likely cause of the discrepancy.

Nobody knows? This is really a problem, my comic doesnt have a new comic by the next day, it gets there by 7 or 8.

The weird about my rss.xml is that is only shows one feed, which is the most recent one. I dont see anything about the time its set to update.

Code: Select all

<generator>auto_magic full (0):0 PI:81566</generator>
This cryptic code tells you what it's set to. If I recall correctly it goes:
program, pull code (full/index, etc), timezone from PST, and Number in queue at time of pull, PI:Process ID (not to be confused with comic id or anything)

That was pulled from my site, your mileage will vary.

The next thing to look at after that is the

Code: Select all

<pubDate>Thu, 09 Aug 2007 00:42:04 +0000</pubDate>
which says when it was updated at exactly. so in this case it was 42 minutes from GMT

Hm, I simply changed it back to 0:00 after experimenting with different times, and it ended up updating at the correct time. So much stress for nothing...
