Colors get displaced it it's mundo UGLY. So I tried GIF and everything looks crackheaded with little fots everywhere. Then I tried png and everything worked perfectly. But now the problem is that PNG taked forever to come in! What should I do? Are there no other types of files that the internet can read? Please I need help! PNG is slow because the files are huge in full colour (24 bit) mode, in 256 colour (8 bit) mode tho', they're smaller than gifs.
Jpegs are lossy, but all good paint programs let you juggle between quality and file size. If you use them keep tweaking the setting until you get a good balance.
Looking at your comics, you could probably reduce your comics to 256 colours if you tidied up your lines.
The way that I've found that works for me is to scan the images in b/w (rather than grayscale) in a high a resolution as your computer can handle (ie: 150, 300, or 600 dpi). This creates an image with huge dimentions, so scale it back down to normal once you're done.
------------------

Dithering is how the computer attempts to create the illusion of there being more colors by making patterns of dots. For example, grays are made with dithered patterns of black and white dots. However, dithering tends to look very bad for certain kinds of images.
------------------

I took your image for the 14th and dropped the image to 256 colours, with dithering turned off. The Comic then saved as 155k vs. the 615k image it was to begin with.
The Gif version might have looked bad because it had dithering turned on.
