The first two pages of my comic have mysteriously vanished.

I've checked with my ftp program, and they're still there in the public folder, but they're not showing up on the site. What's gone wrong?

There are a few possibilities, but most likely they were hit by one of the glitches which have been hitting us all for the past month or so (welcome to the land of server-switching!) Other than making sure all of your stuff is in order (I.E. have you messed with the indextemplate or dailytemplate lately? Are there any typos in your file names?) I'd recommend just waiting a couple of days to see if it all sorts itself out on its own. It probably will.

That could be it. I've had a lot of problems fixed just by waiting. Seems like I really picked the wrong time to set up a website!

Although... for some reason the page that is at the start is numbered 1.html... so I don't know if the first two have been usurped or what...

Eh, it could be worse... hopefully we're almost out of the woods... just a few glitches left to fix on the server transition...

"for some reason the page that is at the start is numbered 1.html... so I don't know if the first two have been usurped or what..."

I'm not sure what you mean by this. The URL for the page at the start of my comic is http://nakedelf.comicgenesis.com/d/20050508.html , where 'd/20050508.html' is the important part as far as differentiating it from the rest of the comic... you should probably link to your comic so we can get a better sense of what you're talking about, just in case it isn't the server.

Okay, now this has just got interesting. I remember it used to have the first two pages, but not anymore.

When I first set up my comicgenesis account, I do remember that at first, I didn't use the proper autoupdate format, I simply labeled them all 1,2,3, etc. I didn't have the first two pages on then. But, I deleted all those old pages, and included the two first pages, and then labelled them from 20070707 up to 20070716. The system took all this well and started from the beginning again, with the two first pages.

But now, I'm guessing it's reverted back to the old pages. I've just looked on my ftp programme and the old pages are listed there again. I'm guessing that's why the first page is listed as 1.html.

So... do you think I should try and delete all the images labbeled 1,2,3etc from my public folder, or just hope that it all corrects itself?

Okay, yeah, it sounds to me like what you've got there is 'rollback', where for some reason the site randomly resets your comic to what was in there at a previous date.

I think it *should* reset everything on its own, but if the files are there I also don't see any harm in re-naming them correclty and seeing if you can correct it manually...
