Removing images

Post by Deckard Canine »

I hadn't realized that when the signup process asked for a "sample," that sample would automatically become the first episode. I'd prefer to save mine for later.

What's more, the image is appearing much larger than it should. What can I do about that?

Regarding the sample, don't fret too much about it. Just send anything you have, because you can always change the order or replace it later. The sample is just to make sure that the server isn't bogged down by a bunch of empty accounts just because people never got around to drawing anything.

Internet dpi is 72. This is tiny. What you'll need to do is go back into your editing program (Photoshop, Paint, GIMP, or whatever you have) and change the image size (probably on "edit"). Pay attention to pixels; you'll want to reach something less than 800 in at least one direction (width or height)

I figured out what to do about the size last night, but thanks, Captain Sparrow. Now the question remains why it didn't update when I said to, even accounting for time zones.

Please be more specific about what you did to get the site to update.

I clicked on "Update/Upload Comic...," found the image by browsing, and clicked "Upload." Apparently, the system doesn't assume that that's the next strip I want up.

How are your comics labelled? For the updater to pick them up, they must be labelled in yyyymmdd format (Year + month + day). So, if you wanted to have a comic appear today, and it was a jpeg, it would be called 20070211.jpg. If a gif comic was to appear next Friday, the comic would be labelled 20070216.gif.

So that's the problem. I can fix that.
