New siteadmin looping

Post by Theliving »

The short of it: new siteadmin keeps kicking me back to the login screen, rather than letting me in.

The long of it:
My comic went live yesterday. If it's simply a known "Well, not everything's propagated through yet" issue, cool; lemme know, and I'll wait. But, if it's not...

I can browse to the comic itself, and can upload files through my FTP access.

My forum username and my comic username are the same - if this is an issue, please lemme know. I've not found a way to specifically associate them with each other (the wiki seems to indicate this is done from within siteadmin, which I, well, can't get into.)

I'm using Windows XP Media Centre, with Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.7. I have Norton Firewall, but I've disabled it for this login attempt.

In all cases, I'm trying to log in to the new siteadmin - not the old one.

My steps were:

1. Clear cache, cookies, etc. in Firefox.
2. Clear cache, cookies, etc. in IE (just in case).
3. Reboot machine.
4. Disable Norton Firewall.
5. Fire up Firefox, note that I'm not logged in to forums.comicgenesis.com, and then log in to forums.comicgenesis.com.
6. From this same Firefox window and tab, browse to siteadmin.comicgenesis.com, and enter my username ('comicname' not 'comicname.comicgenesis.com') and forum (!) password.
7. Siteadmin login page loops - kicks me back to the siteadmin login page.
8. Browse to forums.comicgenesis.com, just to confirm that I'm still logged in there - I am.

I've been through the FAQ and the Wiki tutorials, and I don't think I've missed anything...

You're not the only one having trouble with this; I, and it seems from other threads several other people, are experiencing the same thing. Unfortunately, I haven't run across any threads that have an answer for this . . . I guess we just have to sit tight and wait.

An update: Now I can get in. :)

(Without even being logged in to the forums page!)
