Comicgenesis.com Search

Post by Fortunesfools »

This isn't related to my web comic's page, per se, but I thought it was appropriate for here. (If not, I'm sure one of the helpful Mod staff will ship it off to where it belongs.)

Does anyone else find that the http://www.comicgenesis.com search engine doesn't work? If one types in a comic's name--or any search pattern--it merely returns you to the main page. Is this the case for everyone? I noticed because I've received a few visits from people searching for a specific comic and when nothing is returned they spot the Fortune's Fools pog and check out the comic. While I'm glad they decided to stop by, it seems like it would be better if they were able to find the comic / category they were looking for. Ideally, the searches that lead to Fortune's Fools would be for Fortune's Fools (which would be, admittedly, few and far between considering our youth).

I don't know, I just get the feeling that the person who did a search for "Adult" and clicked on the pog as a consolation was probably a bit disappointed.

Yeah, I've gotten hits from the main page for a variety of searches that were clearly for comics that aren't mine (e.g. "yaoi", "vampire"...). I think that hitting the "search" button just re-loads the main page, and therefore changes the pogs displayed. Of course, it's possible to search for comics on the CGWiki or the Guide and get more accurate results, but I don't think that many people outside the community are aware of those options.
