Todays_Comics and Text

Post by Fortunesfools »

I hope you'll forgive this rather newbie-ish question. I'm really just seeking clarification and my html is best described as, ahem, limited. I did a glance through the archives and the help file, but wasn't 100% certain of the answer.

When I use the AutoKeen's ***todays_comics*** I am under the impression the it imports the code, related to the files with the associated names, into the webpage that gets displayed to the world. (If you can confirm or correct this act of faith, please do!)

I am interested in creating an associated text element with each comic (when warranted). I would like to check if my understanding is correct before I mess with my essentially stable design, so any help that could be rendered would be appreciated.

Say I have two files stored in the workspace/comics section:
  • 2006MMDD.jpg (the actual comic for Fortune's Fools)
2006MMDDb.html (text that I want to carry over into the archive for THAT page)
The html coding that I build for the text file will then incorporate itself into the main page (at least until the next comic update) and display ALL the html coding that it is in. For example, if I want to set up 20060411.html with a table, colour backgrounds for said table, links, etc. they will all appear within the html code below today's image. Correct?

Or did I make that less clear?

I suppose, I am asking if I make a table for the text and give it the proper parameters will it look the same by its lonesome as it would after AutoKeen has its way with it?

Thanks for your help!

Yes.

Don't save it as a html file, though. Save it as an ordinary text file (preferably made in notepad). Your html code will be processed fine.
