domain

Post by Kc2dpt »

I registered my own domain and then I emailed one admin a few days ago and then after not hearing anything back PM'd another yesterday. I don't want to be a pest so I just want to know: how long I should expect turnaround on this? Thanks.

Here's the route, including parts you probably already have done, but still..

1) Register your domain.

2) Set the nameservers of your domain to NS3.KEENSPACE.COM and NS4.KEENSPACE.COM

3) Wait few days for those dns changes to replicate everywhere. Realistically it shouldn't take more than 24 hours or so, but you're requesting service from people who work for almost nothing because they like CG. So wait a week.

4) PM Kisai with your name, your comic name, your CG website (xxxxxxx.comicgenesis.com), your new domain, and the fact you've changed the nameservers and waited a few days.

5) Kisai does magic on this step.

6) Your comic is available from your new domain!

7) Draw Kisai fanart for her doing this for you (remember, she's not really paid anything - so she's actually doing you a favor, not "just doing her job")

OK, so I don't need to eventually go into siteadmin and pick the new domain name? Cause I thought I read somewhere that I needed to do that eventually.

You MIGHT. Certainly the option will be there for you. But I think that Kisai changes that setting for you as a part of configuring your domain on CG's end. I may be wrong. If I am, that step would be the LAST step.
