htaccess and htaccess.bak

I know it was stupid. And I know I deserve a kicking. But accidents do happen.

Whilst revamping my site, I accidently deleated htaccess and htaccess.bak from my d/ and w/ folders, and now the archiving system isn't working - despite having many comics waiting there, when you hit any of the navigation buttons, you get a 404 error. I've tried copying them from other directories, and I've tried downloading them, but it won't let me. Is there any way I can get these files back and get my site working again?

If he deleted the .htaccess files by some accident, the system will just recreate it, still if he REMOVED them, the site shouldn't be 404'ing.
