Backgrounds

Post by Castle_Builder »

So as I go through the comic pitching and technique sections lookin at people comics I am noticing there is a style of background that seems prevelent.

Two examples are:
http://thepkf.keenspace.com/
http://labbratz.keenspace.com/d/20050305.html

The second of which I have seen on a few CG sites albeit in different colors.

Is this a format function that CG offers or is this just a coincidence or is this a function that some web site creation program has and these people happen to be using the same thing?

I'm assuming it is not a CG common function but I wanted to make sure before I wrote off the idea.

Thanks.

CG only offers one preset format. And that's an empty white screen.

It says both page templates were created by Ping Teo, which might explain it. I use the greyscale template (with a few tweaks here and there) designed by the same person.

That's what I figured.

Thanks for the clarification.

Ah, I recognize that. They're both based on a free template that you *should* be able to find in the Gear (which is linked on ComicGen's front page). The one you're talking about is Ocean Blue, but there's a few others.

I don't know if the templates are still online though, as the Gear is in the middle of a major revamp/moving to the wiki.

edit: spelling.

Ahhhhh. Didn't even notice Ping's mention.

I'll check out the gear.

Gratzi!

Castle - are you aware there's a help forum? Not my call, but questions like this might be fielded better there than here?

Denial is not falsification. You can't avoid a fact just because you don't like it.
"Data" is not the plural of "anecdote"

ZING! . . . . . Ouch.

I did read the two headings and considered the options.
Help Center
For requests for help from Keen administrators, Space Wranglers, and experienced 'Space members. Please provide your username and be as specific as possible when describing your problem. Also look at Keen Gear for tutorials and how-tos written by other Keen webtoonists.
General Discussion
For discussions, announcements, non-technical questions and anything else comics-related that doesn't fit in any of the other categories. Non comics-related discussion goes to Off-Topic.
I felt this was more of a general question. Not really asking for help so much as general non-technical info, because ultimatly I have no desire to alter my site from the black and white scheme I have.

Ultimately it was just an oddity I noticed (generally sites don't have such similarities unless there is a reason) and wanted to learn about in case there was something interesting to be known.

Probably could have just as easily been posted in the help forum.

Either way.

And in the event I made a mistake, sorry. Just made a judgement call since I wasn't really sure.

There is a very large amount of information here. Most of these questions have already been answered in help sometime in the past. If they're asked often enough, Phalanx puts them in Gear.
