...but it eludes me anyway. I have a banner add up for my buddies at Low Key Comics. It works fine on the index page...

But not on any of the archive pages, for example...

http://wishin1hand.comicgenesis.com/d/20050711.html

Now the one in the archives has a d/ added to the path for the image. Do I have to separately upload this again to another folder to make it work? Is there a way to skip around the d/ part and make it go to the image I have already uploaded?

Any and all help would be appreciated, even if I know I'm going to wind up looking like a retard because of how simple the answer is.

Ah yes, this has happened to me before.

You need to put a "/" before "images", otherwise a superfluous, ruinous "/d" will be incorporated. In other words, change your code to this:
