Strange new "first comic" page generated just now

Hello. Well, still can't get into login (yes I understand it is down, but thought I'd try anyways) but in the last fifteen minutes the 20050729 comic I had FTPd in 24 hours ago updated automatically. Thanks. However new wierdness.
I started my site on April 9 2004, and 20040409.html has been the "first comic" since then. But suddenly with the new update the new comic has become 20040323a.html which is actually the comic from March this year renamed. Wierd because it didn't exist before. I didn't have a keenspace site in 2004-03, the original of that comic which is 20050323a.html is still where it should be in the archives, in the middle of its story in march of this year so it hasn't moved, and on my computer it is correctly numbered as a jpeg ONLY as 20040323a.jpg.. so I didn't misname it, and upload it wrong back in march, or now.
So somehow the system has arbitrarily duplicated a page from this year, renamed it with 2004, and it has somehow become the new "first comic" page, which of course I do not want... it is not even a single page comic, but a page from the middle of a story a year later.
Why did this happen and how do I get rid of it, so people will go to the real first page?
thanks.

As for the cause: Well I'm fairly certain Autokeen can't rename images. Are you 100% positive you didn't accidentally upload a back-dated comic?
Well, that's why I did a "find" on my harddrive. My first assumption was that I had misnamed it and uploaded it wrong, or twice...I have one jpg called 20050323a.jpg but none called 20040323a.jpg. And as of two days ago, there was no 20040323.html on my keenspace site. I quite often click on "first comic", ie when I make my archive page, when I send my comic link to someone and want them to read them all, when I check my stats etc. It has always been april 9 2004.
If I had named the jpg wrong, I would have to have it on my computer, I would have had to upload it in the last 2 days, which of course I didn't... I only uploaded the new page for Friday, and even that I couldn't manually update. Since I have to drag and drop each page in the FTP, one at a time, and seldom have more than one page to do, I'd really notice if suddenly I started adding extra pages. It is hard enough to draw and upload one page per day.
If I had named it wrong in March, the pages wouldn't have followed in the story which they have and still do (ie it wouldn't exist correctly as 20050323 as I would have named it incorrectly at the time of creating and uploading it in March). It would have jumped to "first comic" status on March 23, not July 30. I noticed it because suddenly in my stats a strange html was getting tons of hits, which it had never done before. Normally it would have gotten about the same # of hits as the page before since it should be in the middle of a story, and I only put links to the first page of a story. It suddenly got lots of hits cuz it suddenly is "first comic".
Like I say, weirdness. weirdness.
I'll try to get in to delete it when the admin update has finished and we can log in again. Til then I guess people will just get wonky "first comic" page.
mistake?

OK, I have done some sleuthing... I looked in previous months stats and that page # did exist before, so it did not become generated in the past 2 days...but instead of being the fourth or fifth highest which it is now, in hits it was lower down. Up til now the normal "first comic" page 20040409 was way high up in hits, and now has totally slid since it is no longer first. Where did it come from and how did it replace the original "first comic" now? Note that there have also been two "folders" which have appeared in the "comics" folder which I did not create either, the most recent on july 29 05. I don't know how to create folders. I log in with FTP, double click on workspace, double click on comics and upload the pages. I don't know how those two empty folders got there either. oh well. I have just ignored those.
But I just wanted to say: my mistake that the file 20040323 appeared 2 days ago. It just appeared high in the stats suddenly, and became "first comic". I still have no idea where it came from or when, but no worries I will delete it when possible.

My first page also disappeared after the crash a couple of months ago and I couldn't remember how to fix it so I just waited and the site crashed again. Now, somehow, it has taken 4 of my comics and plopped them all on the first page. The next button takes you to my original first comic and then the next button threafter takes you to a notice the file you're looking for does not exist. I know this isn't at all helpful, but I do think it's funny. ^-^
I'll fix my site as soon as I figure out how again.

Thanks, nice to know I am not insane. Really, not only would I have noticed over all the months that the first page was wrong, but also if I had misnamed the comic to start with, it would have been in the wrong place in my computer files (which automatically sort by file name) and I would have noticed that it didn't appear on the day it was supposed to. Not to mention readers would probably have told me that a page was missing (after all who would think to look at "first page" for the middle page of a story a year later?). Nah, something wonky is happening on crashes and it is putting something different as first page. Oh well. If we can eventually log in again, hopefully I can disappear the rogue page.
