Ok, I guess I need to add my name to the list of people having trouble logging into both Site Admin and FTP. I got my password email and went to the 'Lost Password' page and changed it, and I continually get told that the password is wrong, so I tried to reset it again but that isn't helping either. I have tried this on my moms Gateway and my Macbook Pro. I wasn't sure if it was just me or not.
Thank you for any help,

Man alive. Someone up there must not like you, Jiichan. Yikes.

Make sure to check your junk folders and email filters. Also, some email services flag CG email as "junk", and the email never arrives.

If you still want to put a comic up on CG, you might have to wait for this account to expire, then try again. Though, I wouldn't blame you if you went off to DrunkDuck or something after all this.

Ouch! :(

After you've successfully submitted the form, the first confirmation email should come through within a few hours, normally instantly.

Which email provider are you using? I use and recommend hotmail, simply because it allows you different levels of spam blockage. You could set it to "don't block anything" and there'd be nothing stopping emails from CG arriving. And once you've received one email, you should then be able to save the email addy and add it to your approved receivers list.

edit: From page 1 of this help thread:

Kisai wrote:6. If you do not get a response within 2 weeks, the signup will be deleted, and you should use a different email address, as this means that your ISP has rejected the e-mail. You can use the check_status script to see if it went through http://siteadmin.keenspace.com/cgi-bin/check_status.cgi

I joined at the end of March and I got the first confirmation email pretty much right away. But I never got the second email that was supposed to arrive, with the password. I looked at the address my site's supposed to be at, and it looks like there's a basic page there (which has apparently been there for the past two weeks), with the sample comic I sent and the title, but I can't do anything with it. If Yahoomail ate that second email, is there any way I can get it re-sent?

No, there isn't a way to resend it. Image

That email is notorious for taking a very long time to arrive... but it should have been there by now. Check Junk folders. If your account expires, you'll have to sign up under a different email... hotmail works well enough, I've found.

How long does it take for it to expire? I really want to keep the domain name I picked, I'd be willing to just let it expire and sign up again assuming it won't take too long.

Just a reminder:

a) If you signed up, and your account is created, you can recover the password since you were able to verify it with an email address, it will only be deleted when the clean up script is run and nothing has updated in 90 days.

b) If you signed up and your account is NOT created, you only have a 2 week window to verify, after that, the signup is deleted. You can even reuse the email address if you want to signup again, but if you never get the email the first time, then you should use a different one. Gmail is so far the only free email address that doesn't automatically put emails from CG in the junk box. As far as I know at least. Mine are relayed through my parents ISP so I get everything, including replies to help@ ... Just I can't send a reply to anything sent to help@ without a lot of hassle, while gmail does a good job of filtering out the spam, trying to find the replies to help@ is a needle in a haystack.

Yeah, I agree Black Sparrow. I am On Smackjeeves, but I always wanted to be on CG more than any other hosting site. But theres ALWAYS a problem. It finally lets me log in then it says no comics are available to me and I have to enter a Domain and password or something. Why does it hate me!?

Um, that's how it's supposed to work.

A user logs into siteadmin (think of it as a comic account manager) and then you tell it which comic(s) you have. The user 'adds' them to their account and then they canbe modified / maintained seperately.

Users can also add comics that aren't theirs if they're participating in a comic jam or something.

Postby TheWhiteWilSmith on Mon Apr 30, 2007 3:45 pm

So logging into the new site admin.

I enter my username, as specified by comicgenesis, and my password, which logged me into the previous site admin, and it redirects to a blank page and then reloads the page with an empty login name and password field.

How am I to log in properly?

On the NEW site admin, log in using your forum name and password. From there you will enter your comic name and password like you used to use on the old site admin site.

You need to use your FORUM name and password for the initial log in to Site Admin. From there, you will be prompted for your site name and password. Sometimes, there's still a loop with being unable to log in. If you still have problems after using your forum name and password, try deleting your cache and maybe try another browser.

Hope that helps.

I'm having the looping problem too.

I used forum name and password, I've tried 2 different computers, 3 different browsers (Mozzilla Firefox, Internet Explorer and Opera), emptied cache twice.

Still looping. It doesn't even react differently if I type the password incorrectly, it just goes to http://siteadmin.comicgenesis.com/login.php?redirect=

Just to say, I don't have problems with FTP, both my FTP-programs and the web-FTP logs me in nicely.

The only way I could login to the forum was through the private message center thingie. I'm just wondering how many loopers there is who can't even login in to this forum. Gaah. What next?

I had the exact same problem and then, suddenly, it worked. I have no idea why it worked all of a sudden but it did. My only other piece of advice would be keep trying.

Well, by now I've re-read the FAQs, followed all instructions I could possibly find, emtpied my cache, but I can still get nowhere near my site admin ... FTP still works but everything else keeps sending me in the endless loop. (And I've tried the forum name and password thing too) :-?

I really don't know why it's not working but I'd love it to be ...

Siteadmin acts up occasionally.

Make sure that you ARE using your forum name and password. Pay attention to capitals. If you've done that, you can only wait and hope it clears up.

hi everybody !!!

I recently got my comic genesis account and registered for a forum account, and I'm having the looping problem as well when trying to login to siteAdmin (with my forum username).

In the welcome email (I know it's not up to date though), it was specified that it might take 2 to 5 days for everything to be settled, so I thought I'd just wait and see. But it's been 7 days now, and it still won't work.

I noticed it loops if I type a random username (which obviously doesn't exist) and password. So the question is: could it be that siteAdmin doesn't know my username exists ?

How long has it been for you for this problem to be solved ?
