HELPhelpHELPhelpHELPme!!!
I'm having three problems that I'm hoping some kind soul out there will know how to fix.
1)My site isn't updating, in otherwords it's always a day or three behind

2)My links to old comics ( first day, previous day, etc...)dont work. the link looks ok, but I get a 404 error messege whenever I try them. I've tryed a full update several times, and have even tried reloading all the comics

3)I'm having a hard time getting the aesthetics of my page working, ie: changing the background color and text color, getting images to appear (like the title image im trying to put next to the ads) I'm using tags right now, because HTML didn't seem to work, can you use both HTML and ***tags*** on the same page? how?

thanks for any help you might be able to offer!!!!

For the update, I have no idea. Just make sure you are naming the comics correctly for the day. Other than that, I have no idea.

As for the previous next comic button thingies, have you been editing anything in the public folder? If you try to change the html pages in there, then the links wont be connected. Other than that, I can't really say.

You can most definately use tags and html on the same page. What tags are is a way for the auto update to insert the needed html into the document for the update. It will only insert the html where there is a tag and ignore everything else.

Tags can be effected in some respects by html. That is, if you want to center your comic putting {align="center"} ***today's comic***{/align} would center the comic (if you replaced the { and } with < and > that is)

Hope that helps a little

Joel

Before I go doing investigation, please visit http://cerror.keenspace.com/cgi-bin/mem ... eckkeen.pl and look for anything in red.

Specificly, if the templates are missing or the symlinks are missing, you will have serious problems.

If there is something in red, e-mail help@ and report the problem, especially if it's regarding the symlinks as only like two people can fix them. If it's a problem with your template (like it's missing) then either your template files are missing, or misspelled (both case sensitive and spelling, many people call it .htm instead of .html)

Okay, I went to that Keendex Utilities page, and thats a good idea, yet, for some reason, almost everything is in red, AND on the bottom it says

Sorry gumbubble doesn't exist

Is it me, or is that not making any sence(sp?) As on the site (keenspace site) it even says my name!!!

I dont want to be an annoyance, and you don't need to do anything for me, but I have no real idea what you are saying

(("Specificly, if the templates are missing or the symlinks are missing..."))

so... whatever. Ive probably done something wrong. Sorry to bother you. I hope im not babbling. Im stupid. End of Storyline.
