Speaking of this reverse DNS issue, how long is it gonna take? I'm seriously in need of keenspace. My temp site just went down, which means no updates until I get it back up or I finally get my pass.

Well, doesn't work still.... is there not anyway these passwords can be given another way? I mean, we can go in and change them and our other information after we get them....

I overheard someone else saying that this won't be fixed FAR down the road and we may be waiting for months....

I doubt that's true. I'm sure it's top priority, along with user database (hopefully).

Well, I don't put much stock in rumors, but there hasn't been an ETA on the reverse DNS thing,... and it's already been at least two to three weeks.

I've tried this several times over the last few weeks, as well as emailed help@keenspace.com and nate@keenspace.com -- neither luck nor response so far (the strip is arctic).

I can gaurantee you that the the newpassword URL is working. However if you aren't getting it, it's beacuse it can't send the e-mail (reverse dns problem.)

There is no other way to send a password because passwords have to be created by the server itself, passwords can not be retrieved, only changed. This is because of a one-way encryption

Take your password encrypt it, that's what the server stores
When you log in, it takes your login password encrypts it with the same cipher and compares it to the encrypted password. If it matches, you're in, if it doesn't you're stuck.

When we say "we can not send lost passwords" that is because of the way they are stored, not becuse we don't want to.

Please be patient.
