Have you not heard that there's a server shift going on? That the comics are on a new server while the membership (logs/updater/etc) side of things is currently on the old?
This is why nothing works at the momment; your webalizer is still recording stats on the old server, but you comics are no longer there. So don't panic - It's being sorted out and the rumour mill has it that things will be a lot better than they were before the shift.
------------------

Nice to know because I was wondering the same thing. Heh, Seemed a little odd that I'd drop from about 1500 visits a day down to just a few.
I figured that was the problem but wasn't sure. Thanks.
------------------

My counter isn't working either. Stopped working 4 days ago and I haven't been able to update my site either.

What's the deal? Isn't the counter working? Anyone else having this problem? Any idea when it'll be fixed?

I've been getting two visits a day since Saturday...
There's another thread about this problem, but I don't think a real explanation has been given.
------------------

Ok, my question is how does one go about getting 1500 visits a day anyway? ^_^ Tell me your secrets!
Also in agreement with the praise...the main moderators of the keenspace groups have been a rock through all of this. I'm sure this will all be worth it when it starts working.
Nathan <A HREF="

Okay to clarify first of all it is "visits" that we're getting that many per day. Visits is the best approximation for how many readers you have. Hits includes how many times anything on your site is seen. We receive about 30,000 of those a day.
Anyways first of all I'd get a backup hit counter. Extreme Tracking is good if you put it at the top of your page somewhere. That way when these problems occur you have another place to look.
Now, we started out with very few readers too. The secret to our success is in who you know. Getting plugged by other comics is the main method of generating visits. I did this by getting to know them. I talked to people on IRC, ICQ, AIM and e-mail. Instead of asking for pluggage I just talked to them and asked them to look at the comic. If they like it they'll plug you. Another key is to try not to shoot too high up. The more hits a comic receives the less likely you are to get a response from the writer/artist.
When keenspace's stats page works its easy to get hits by plugging other people's comics too. If they're a Keenspace member and check their stats if they've been receiving hits from you they might check your comic out.
Uh, that's all, hopefully that helps. If you want to know better specifics e-mail me or something, my address is on my comic's page (hah! now you have to go there to get it thus giving me more hits!)
------------------

Anyone know if the lower stats will be fixed?

Wow I thought the hits thing, meant how many times your site was viewed during the day. I guess I really do have no readers of any kind.

What, you call those hits? I get about 85 000 of those per day. Then again tho', I only get about 80 page views; still that's not too shabby considering I have no comics.

So ... if Keenspace is 'back to normal' when will the Webalizer stats lost during the upgrade be restored ?

I believe the webalizer just processes data from the logs, so all they have to do is merge the log files.
DISCLAIMER: I may be horibbly wrong.

Ah, it all makes sense now. I was getting worried that all my readers had suddenly decided to get a life. Phew!
Still, it will be better for my ego when the webalizer works again. Get it fixed pronto, I don't want to feel so unwanted!
Bayard, None More Comic <A HREF="

Yes, I too am having no luck with my logs. It's been weeks since I've seen stats. (I think)
But I shall not complain, because I know you keen-admins are swamped.
Later.
Aaron Littleton
