problems loging into ftp? FTP now has an IPv6 address???

i tried logging into the FTP today, which usually works, but i noticed the IP address changed to an IPv6 address, and its not logging me in (Server not found).
Is this a temp issue or is the conversion to IPv6 permanent? I know we're running out of IP addresses and we're switching to a standard that has over 300 undecillion addresses...but...i'm not sure my computer is compatible.... Bleh. I'm rambling on...

CG's a little slow, but FTP isnt working at all. Hit me back.
