Forum emails are on a different server than the keenspace server, so no. If you used an aol, yahoo, hotmail or verizon email address, then they most likely filed it under spam or deleted it. AOL has been blocking email from keenspace for like every second month.[/quote]

My email account is remus@panix.com. Panix is a BSD Linux shell service that does minimal filtering on user email. I have a procmail filter that is set to pass through anything from keenspace.com, and it keeps a cache of everything it filters anyway -- nothing is sent to /dev/null until I review the cache and tell it to dump. I haven't seen any verifications in there.

From what I can see there are several possible causes:

1. My ISP is filtering your server emails but not your forum emails. (unlikely)
2. Because my ISP was down when I signed up, your server marked it as a bad address and is refusing to send any email.
3. My ISP may have been redirected, not down, when I signed up. (Nobody's sure, from what I hear.) Someone caught the redirected account verification, signed up, and switched the owner address to theirs. (But then why would I be unable to sign up again under remus@panix.com?)
4. Your server verification and/or password change script simply isn't working. (unlikely; you'd know.)

I don't know what to do from here or how to proceed -- I think it's beyond anything I have control over.

I'd like it if you just canceled my application and wiped out the memory of my address, so I could apply again (and, barring another major net hacking, I promise not to screw it up a second time.) But that won't help if the problem is #1 or #4.

If there's anything I can do to help, please let me know. And thanks for spending your time on this problem; I know how annoying it can be when something that should work just stops doing so.

Hi Kisai, don't mean to bug you but I just got an account at autumnorchid.keenspace.com. I wanted to change the domain name (I hadn't come up with a name for the comic, so it's my fault) and I know that it's not possible to do so, so in order to get the account purged, I have to delete all the template files and such so that the account gets prunned right?

I'm also an AOL e-mail person, but I get all e-mails sent to me by Keenspace, so when I sign up again with the correct information, should I use my AOL e-mail or just use a yahoo e-mail account?

Thanks for your time!

Works fine for me, any specific error? "This page can not be displayed" is an error on your site (firewall usually) An error with the form will be displayed at the top if you get sent back to the same page.

Signed up with Yahoo mail . . .

Post by Square »

yeah so I signed up using my yahoo mail and I'm not getting the activation e-mail. Didn't realize yahoo was a no-no until I sent in my registration .. .oops. So can I just change my e-mail in my account (I have a comcast account) so I can activate it, or will I just have to wait 2 weeks and do it over? Thanks.

I seem to be having the same problem many of the people here are having.

I signed up for an account with a hotmail address, and never recieved any emails until two weeks later, when I got a "You didn't activate your account" email.

So I signed up again, this time with a Gmail account, but I'm still not getting any confirmation/signup emails. What else can be done?

<b>[EDIT]</b> Got it! Thanks.

Uh . . . nevermind.

Post by Square »

yeah so I did actually get my activation email on yahoo. No problem. It just said after I signed up that yahoo emails wouldn't work . . . I guess they don't block the emeils anymore . . . So I'm good. Now I just have to wait for my password I guess and then I'm sure I'll be back here for help setting things up since i really don't know what I'm doing. Thanks.

Where's the confirmation?

Post by Bulletproofheeb »

I signed up over 24 hours ago and still have not received a confirmation e-mail. I checked my status and it said it was sent, but it never got to me. I did the change password thing, but that never sent me anything either. My e-mail isn't hotmail or AOL or anything like that. I've checked the filtered folder as well, and there's nothing there. How can i get a copy of my confirmation code so I can activate my account?

I've signed up for an account of stickthis.keenspace.com and I've awaited my e-mail confirmation which the site said woudl take an hour. It has been several hours and still I have not yet received an e-mail. I just signed up for the forums and received the confirmation e-mail for that no problem (I know the forum and keenspace e-mail servers are diff). Is someone still going through this manually? I can provide my e-mail address in a pm if necessary.

I checked signup status and it said this:
Signup found, status:
Signup email sent, waiting activation or purge

I've tried using the lost password feature but that's not working either. I'm using my ISP e-mail, is there a way I can attempt a different one?

I have also sent an e-mail to my ISP to find out if keenspace e-mails are filtered, and if there's anyway they can check to see if any e-mail has been sent to my account from keenspace.
------
NOTE: 11pm EST on 20 Feb - the e-mail just arrived :) Just gotta wait for the password e-mail now (which it says comes in about 7 days).

Feh, I could swear it didn't say this
1. Picture sample is now required, due to many "bulk signup" attempts This will be the "day 1" picture or starting picture when the comic starts. What you should upload is what you'd like as the first comic or "cover page" ... not a "coming soon" page.
On the signup page. Is there a way to change that image after the account is set up?

And if it did say it; sorry, I missed it, what can I say, I'm a dumbass.

Yes, you can change it. Check out http://gear.keenspace.com for more info.

The signup email I got said that it would take at least 7 days to get user name and password. That gives me a lower bound, which has just passed. What's the upper bound (roughly)? Are we talking 7-10, 7-14, 7-400, what?
