Forum emails are on a different server than the keenspace server, so no. If you used an aol, yahoo, hotmail or verizon email address, then they most likely filed it under spam or deleted it. AOL has been blocking email from keenspace for like every second month.[/quote]Kisai wrote:I received the verification message for signing up for the forums. So I know email can reach me from keenspace.com. Just not, apparently, from the account signup process. :/
My email account is remus@panix.com. Panix is a BSD Linux shell service that does minimal filtering on user email. I have a procmail filter that is set to pass through anything from keenspace.com, and it keeps a cache of everything it filters anyway -- nothing is sent to /dev/null until I review the cache and tell it to dump. I haven't seen any verifications in there.
From what I can see there are several possible causes:
1. My ISP is filtering your server emails but not your forum emails. (unlikely)
2. Because my ISP was down when I signed up, your server marked it as a bad address and is refusing to send any email.
3. My ISP may have been redirected, not down, when I signed up. (Nobody's sure, from what I hear.) Someone caught the redirected account verification, signed up, and switched the owner address to theirs. (But then why would I be unable to sign up again under remus@panix.com?)
4. Your server verification and/or password change script simply isn't working. (unlikely; you'd know.)
I don't know what to do from here or how to proceed -- I think it's beyond anything I have control over.
I'd like it if you just canceled my application and wiped out the memory of my address, so I could apply again (and, barring another major net hacking, I promise not to screw it up a second time.) But that won't help if the problem is #1 or #4.
If there's anything I can do to help, please let me know. And thanks for spending your time on this problem; I know how annoying it can be when something that should work just stops doing so.
