When I try to follow the link it says that there is a 404 error, adn that's all

For some reason.. no matter what email I use when I go to sign up here at Comic Genesis, when I go to "verify" it takes a while to load the next screen, and then loads the sign up sheet with everything Ive wrote (a thousand times again and again) is reset and blank.... please help me.. Ive tried various email accounts and even sign up for new ones.. and yet theres still no activation email sent to any of them!!

ronan: are you still having trouble? ...if you're still around...?

lemon: When the page refreshes, that means your form didn't send. If it worked, you'd get a "your form has been sent" sort of message.

There are two common mistakes that can make a sign-up form fault out of sending it properly:

1. Your country code is wrong. That first box in the phone number section needs to be filled out. If you don't know your code, Google it.

2. Your signup sample is too big. Shrink your pic in whatever image editing program you use to be less than 500 kb. Also, make sure the pic is in a format that it can read, such as jpg, gif, or png. No psds or vids will go through.

I'm also not able to sign into siteadmin, i've tried several times, but to no avail...

I've been using Comic Genesis for several months now and I'm starting to work on a new comic. As a result of this, I've signed up for a new account and I haven't had any problems at all with it so far.

@kiosk: could you elaborate a bit more on what you are doing and what is hapening?

@lemon: If the page shows you the same form again, at the top of the page it will have a message stating why it didn't go through. If it has something to do with the phone number, the first box is for the international country code (which is 1 for the US), the second box is for your area code and the last two boxes are for the remaining numbers (usualy four each, depending on the country).

And if you need to re-submit the form, carefully look at all the data you need to enter because some of the info stays and some does not. The checkbox at the very bottom which says "I've read the terms and conditions" needs to be re-ticked at least, plus your description usually.

when i sign into the site admin with my user name and password, it takes a second, then reloads the page, emptying the boxes. I had no problem connecting through FTP, this is the only problem thus far. thanks for the help!

Kiosk's problem has been happening to a lot of us. It's been almost a week and I still get a redirect loop every time I try to log into the siteadmin (yes, with my forum name and pass).

Kisai is aware of the people having a problem with logging into siteadmin, but can't figure out the cause. Her main conclusion is that you guys are all doing something wrong.

Make absolutely positive that you're using your FORUM name/password combination to sign in, and that the password is exactly as you first selected it. Passwords are cAsE sEnSiTiVe. Try logging into/out of the forums, then signing in. Use different browsers.

There's nothing else that can be done about it.

It's not on our end. I used another browser, typing my user name/password correctly over and over, even trying random gibberish to see if I got errors, and still nothing. No "wrong password", "wrong user name", it just constantly redirects to a login page.

So then I come back here to the forums, log in perfectly, and even try making mistakes to make sure there's an error screen. Sure enough, when there's a mistake there's an error screen saying so.

I'm not making any mistakes.. It's not on my end.

Edit: I've tried another PC, I've tried another forum account, I've tried clearing my history/cookies/cache, I've tried another browser. Nothing is working, I just can't get into the site admin.

This is really bizarre. It seems to be happening to a group of people who joined around a specific timeframe.

You could try requesting a new password. That might "clear the error" so to speak. But there's always the possibility of making things worse.

I'm having the same problem. I can connect to the OLD site admin (for some reason that address gets sent with the welcome mail), I can even log into the web FTP. My comic is showing up when I go to the page but when I log into the site admin using my forum name and password, I get stuck in an endless loop. I've tried what everybody else has tried. I've logged out and in of the forums. I've cleared my cache and my cookies. I've tried a new browser. There are no error messages, just an endless loop of logging in, looping back directly to the log in screen with no error. Lather, rinse and repeat.

With this many people having the exact same problem, it can't be user error.

Edited to add: YES, I am using my FORUM password, before anybody asks.

Okay, that makes nine people who have experienced this problem by my count, but two have since found that the error was they were trying to use an incorrect password and one had an auto-password filling thingy on their comp that was replacing the new password with the old one.

If you can't get into siteadmin, you can still run your comic with ftp alone. If Kisai didn't find any proplems, then it would seem that the best bet would be to make sure that the right username / password combination is being used (which everyone seems to be doing, but three have since found that they weren't) and that the right link is being followed (that would be this one: http://siteadmin.comicgenesis.com/login.php with nothing after the second p). If you're following a different link (such as the popular one with the redirect= on the end) then that may be a problem...

I only get the 'redirect' AFTER failing to log in. If everyone IS using the wrong password, then would it be possible for the software to, you know, tell us? Hey idiot, that isn't your password, or something. I use the link you gave to log in. I keep getting stuck in an endless loop. If I'm doing something wrong, the software should be smart enough to tell me.

Heck, I even reset my forum password, cleared all my cookies and tried again with the new password and am still getting the same nonsense. It's frustrating.

Kisai mentioned something about Norton possibly taking the rest of the redirection off the end of the url. So... try fiddling with your security settings, if you have the knack for that sort of thing.

I don't use Norton. Anyway, it suddenly worked a few minutes ago. By the way, I used the exact same password I was using before when I got stuck in an endless loop.

When I was logging in with the FTP password, this popped up. Something for the web guys to look at:

works. Trying password

It DID log me in but whoever is handling the programming may wish to peek at the code.

Before my problem used to be that giving me no confirmation code. Well now the problem is when I fill out the sign up CORRECTLY, it loads, and it takes me directly back to a clean and empty sign up page again. It doesnt say anything is wrong, it such makes me start over. Ive written everything in over and over for atleast half an hour now. What do I do?

There aren't any known problems with the signup proccess at the moment.

It may be the settings on the computer that you are using. I haven't heard of any software that prevents forms from being filled out, but there's always a first time.

If it works properly, it'll give you a confirmation message. If there was incorrect data entered, then it would show you the form again with some of the information you entered still there and at the top there would be a message with what the problem is.

However, to be constantly getting a fresh blank page is new. I'd suggest that you first try filling it out from a different computer. At a friend's place, maybe?

This IS a different computer.. And my files are the right size and format... It just takes me back to the sign up.I dont know. Ill try another computer...
