I looked it up online, and it looks like Australia's area number is 61. So, put 61 in the first box, and continue with your number in the next ones. Tell me if it works.

Thanks for the help. Lets hope it works.

I've already got a site for me comic, but i can't update it cause it was built and maintained by someone else who is currently having a major crisis... namely breakdown and depression so i'm forging ahead on my own while he gets better which may take a year or so. Plus i like other comics on comicgenesis.

blab over. thankies again for the help.

Cannot Sign Up

I have tried the comic sign up page five times, and each time it will not go through. I get the message "errors found" and even though I do not change information, it varies from 1 to 3 errors. Clearly there is something wrong with the system. Please tell me what I can do.

I've tried signing up a couple of times, when it wasnt working I found that my preview picture was over 500kb. Ive changed that, and its under now, but I dont think that the signup is working. The form dissapears, but when I checked the "check signup" page, it keeps saying that no signup form was found for my username.

Any ideas?

Zoe, I don't believe it is anything you are doing. There something is wrong with the server today and it is only just being worked out. (I think it had a cramp.) Wait a couple of hours and try again.

It may be an issue with your firewall. Try turning it off, just for this, or even finding a friend's computer and using that to sign up.

Also, make sure country codes and everything are completely filled out. Just wanted to mention it.

My story is a familiar one. I was born a... No wait, I can't log in to the siteadmin. I created my account and received the email notice on 10/23. I am user and comic: minitoons. After a few days I could see my web page: http://minitoons.comicgenesis.com/, but could not log in. I gave it a 5 more days, but still couldn't log in.
I tried the "change my password" option, and waited another day, but still no luck with either the old or the new password.
I am trying both EI7 and Firefox 2.
I see the "If you see this message, it means you have entered an incorrect password, but the form is working" message.
The "cookie write test" succeeds.
Will I be able to play the violin again doctor?

Hee hee. You're cute.

Honestly, I had the exact same issue waaaaaaaay back when I joined. Couldn't sign in. Passwords didn't seem to work. I waited FOREVER...

...and then, one day, I woke up and I could sign in.

As long as you've gone through all the confirmation emails and other hoops, the best advice is to wait with bated breath. That clears up a lot of the problems.

(ps. You remember to login into siteadmin with your forum account name first, then your username, right?)

Thank you. Yes, I chose the same login for a forum name and username so I wouldn't get confused, though it only mitigates one small section of the total confusion space available to me. :-) I'll try to fend off the comic admin angst for a while longer, though I am anxious.

Hi I'm just following up my flammable penguins sign up ticket. Is there anywhere I can find out what's happening with that. I lose track of time but it must have been more than a week now.

Thanks

Yes I can shut my trap if you wish
and Yes I'll just sit right here and hold my tongue if I must.

I'd just like to know whats going on is all.

I recollect it taking me about a week and a half.

Be patient, work on buffer.

Rule #1 of the CG signup process: wait
Rule #2 of the CG signup process: wait a little more.
Rule #3 of the CG signup process: wait even more.

Catching my drift?

This doesn't happen immediately; in fact, it often takes longer than the tutorials say it will. You may have to wait up to a month or more before you've jumped through all the hoops and can actually get everything working and up online. Some people say it's a way to divvy out the casual signups from the people serious about making a webcomic, but really, it's just part of the process.

So just keep watching your email, and use this waiting period to build yourself a pretty buffer.

advertisements

Post by Snowbones »

Hi, I'm new and trying to sort out some stuff.
The main page of my comic http://bayside.comicgenesis.com uses an ***include*** file to display the top portion (which includes the advertisement and then comic title graphic below, with the links to other sites below that.

But when the comic displays, it shows the advertisement correctly for the include file, but it also shows it again above the comic. Can you tell me how to get rid of the 2nd advertisement so that the only one showing is the one on top (from the include file)?

Thanks for your help

I finally have hope just one more hurdle

Post by Cpt Link128 »

so finally my signup went through, halleluha, and I got the e-mail and all of that but now I'm a little confused.
I've waited 5 days since I got the conformation e-mail, the second one, but I still can't log in. Should I just wait longer? Also, if my site actually exists, (angelink.yada) which it does, shouldn't I be able to log in somewhere by now.
I am all that is man!

Still no luck...

Post by Zoe »

Hello, me again, sorry about this but it still isnt working....
Ive tried turning off my firewall a couple of times, Ive tried other computers, Ive tried turning off other computers firewalls. Ive used 3 different email addresses, a gmail, a yahoo and my old optusnet. When I go here http://siteadmintest.keenspace.com:8080 ... status.cgi it is still telling me that no signup exists (my username is riftmage if that helps at all)

The form isnt telling me that there is an error when I press verify, but is it meant to say something about it going through? All I get is another blank form.

Is there anything else I can do?
