Just switched from Geocities

Post by DaveXT »

So I read the guide, got SmartFTP, and I began uploading all the files to ComicGenesis. I then got a messege from a friend who was watching to make sure I was doing everything right, and I guess I'm not. Because the keentags are showing up in the end result of the page.

This was my first attempt, which failed, probably because I placed it wrong. After I tried reverting it back to the original index file that I got in the beginning, using the indextemplate file. Once I did this, I tried to see if it went back to making sense, but no. The keentags still show up in the browser rendering of the site. Any help?

See the mutated page for yourself for http://digitalage.comicgenesis.com

Code: Select all

<html>
<head>
<title>Digital Age - The Webcomic</title>
</head>

<body bgcolor="000000" link="EEEEEE" vlink="CCCCCC">

<div class="keen_ad" style="display:inline;">***advertisement***
</div>

(rest of the page)

</body>

</html>

Leave index.html alone. You need to modify indextemplate.html, which will be put in /workspace/. Once you put the new indextemplate.html file in /workspace/, run an update (or wait for one to run). Then the site will be all newlike.

From looking at the stuff you've given here, I can only assume that in your html editor, you've typed the tags into the page view screen instead of into the html code itself.

Otherwise, I'm not too sure, but that'd be the first place I'd try to look.

Cheers.

EDIT: Or follow the instructions above. They got posted before I could get my act together. :)
