Wonky September Webaliser Stats

Hello. Webaliser Stats were really wonky in August
1)several days with zero stats at all (aug 12, 19, 21), several days with incomplete stats (Aug 7, 13, 16, 17, 20)... I have stats on the iframe blog I put into my index template so I know that over 200 people visited those days despite the comicgen webaliser recording zero visits on the no-stats days, and only 50-70 on the other days I mentioned)

2) in the "referers" there were weird "three or four line listings" like:

Which I do not understand and has never happened before in over a year.

But now in September, it seems even wonkier. For the first three days it says I have 7 referers. I usually have over 100 different referers for the first day of a month, including topwebcomics, belfry, buzzcomics, a few comicsgen guides, several google addies and a bunch of regular sites that are linked to me. The top 7 referers I now have look like this:

Now I get a lot of direct requests, but other than the 6 keenspace URLs (one hit each, and strangely none of them seems to have a link to me, I looked)... that means 100% of the hits would have to not be via any referer (bookmark, link etc) which is unbelievable. I looked at buzzcomics and they have stats out for me.

daily stats so far look like this:

1 visits: 396 sites: 293
2 visits: 396 sites: 266
3 visits: 372 sites: 249

So, why are the referers not being recorded? I usually have only about 40% direct requests, not 99.97%.

Has anything changed with the webaliser or comicsgenesis to cause this? Is there anything I can do to fix it? (I haven't changed anything like template, complete update, URLs etc)
Is anyone else having stats problems?

The admins are tweaking the Webalizer to make it more efficient. AFAIK, they're not done with the changes yet and in the meantime, the stats can be wonky indeed.

I was really watching my cumulative page views, wanted to have a big 'woohoo" when I reached 100,000.... so I am rather um, peeved...

The point of stats is theoretically to have some sort of accuracy of counting, usually, so it would have been nice if they had "tweaked" on the side, and then changed over when it worked. I didn't ever notice that they weren't efficient enough.

As it is, it is a bit pointless now having watched for 18 months.
Oh well.

The ironic thing is that I usually used my keenspace stats as an example to other places of stats that worked well.

Thanks for letting me know though, that it isn't something wonky I have done or should do and hopefully there will be an end to the "betterment".
