Does the Auto Update System work for file types other than images?

It works for txts as well. I think it might work for flash, but don't quote me on that.

File types I know that it works for:
jpg, gif, png, txt, html, swf
It might work for a few more, such as tif, but I can't remember for sure.

Those are not AutoKeenable. I don't know if they're even allowed.
