I know this is going on for a lot of people, but it's been two in a row that haven't updated now, and I can't get ANY of the manual site updates to work in any manner.

I have checked my comic information and can't see any " or !'s in it. I've checked the site itself and keep finding Workspace, Indextemplate.html, and dailytemplate.html in the Public_html folder. These are deleted.

I've been trying to make sure it isn't a fault of mine, and have done everything I can find to do.. but it will won't update.

(Yes, I know a lot of other people are having it, but I wasn't in the newest batch to be created. u.u)

Please do not remove the workspace symlink in public_html, this is why your site isn't updating.

You should have no reason to do anything to the public_html directory if you are using autokeen.

Um, it stopped working before I removed that. c.c So, while I clearly made a mistake, there was something wrong before that occurred...

Okay, this is freaky....

It hadn't been updating at all, so today I go through and remove things only to be told that I removed something that shouldn't have been removed...
You guy nicely put it back, and all of the sudden I can use a regular update and get things back as they belong.

Seems really weird to me that removing something that shouldn't have been removed, and having it added again would make the site work. c.c

Honest, guys, I hadn't removed workspace from Public_html until just before I wrote that first post. The site hasn't been updating since Friday the 12.

Regardless of all of this I was at least able to get a regular update to work. Thanks guys! ...now to hope it actually updates tomorrow...

For future reference:

1. Do not do anything to stuff in public_html unless you really need to (like deleting html files that no longer exist.)

2. Sym-links are magical things that make things show up in two places, while really only one exists. In autokeens case, it needs to have it to reference back to the templates. There is also a symlink to public_html/images to workspaces/images and one from public_html/d/template.html to /workspace/dailytemplate.html

No, for some reason the FTP protocol never put in a way to create symlinks, or no ftp server supports it (The unix command is ln)

I'll send a message to someone who can fix it.

(I already made a post with a long paragraph describing my problems)
orangepenguins
orangepenguins.keenspace.com

I just got my site wednesday night. I made some changes to my index page, and uploaded 11 comic files into the ftp server, in the correct file. I request an update, and when I hit the refresh button s=to see my progress, I keep moving from number 1 in the queue to number two to number 1 to number 3 etc. I had some problems with the index page on the ftp server, fix those, same problesms when I ask for an update. I've had no trouble logging in, (though when I try to loging from keenspace home page, is says my user name isn't in the archives or something like that) My first comic should have appeared at 11pm (mst) last night, but didn't. the date in the title bar (should that even be there?) says that it's Saturday, December 0, which probably has to do with my comic not autoupdating. It still says Dec 0 today.

ok guys now im really screwed......
I was thinking that maybe I could refresh the Index page by deleting it and re uploading. well instead I goto the site directory instead of the Index page. But the Index page is still there.....

go to caseysworld.keenspace.com to see what I mean. I think this is just an HTML error. if not I'll just have to wait till updates start working again.......... if ever...... I hate keenspace.

Ok, Casey. This one looks simple. Try reuploading the index file as index.html, instead of Index.html. It won't fix the uploading problem, but it should give you a site page. (The server is case-sensitive)

Calm down Manetherindrelle. Fixing problems of this nature aren't easy and by all means, the keenspace staff is overworked.

Since I have been having the same problems (it would seem) updating my page I went into the FTP and took a look around to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

I have never even looked in the public_html folder before, so I know I could not have deleted anything. Everything seems to be in order except... the indextemplate.html folder in the public_html folder is there in the ftp screen but everytime I try to access it I get the following message

550 indextemplate.html: No such file or directory

This is a curiosity since every time I refresh the screen it appears. Is this supposed to be like that or does this mean that something somewhere along the line got erased that wasn't supposed to and as such updates no longer function.

If something was erased, is there anyway that I can fix it or would I need to contact someone directly at keenspace? Thanks for any help you can give
