I need help with this stupid images thing! I don't get it! What is everyone talking about when they say referencing! And what are we supposed to reference! I can't get my background to show up on my page! Is that what I'm supposed to reference? Or do I refrence stuff like buttons and link symbols, or the title? And where am I supposed to reference this stuff at? On the webpage or with Keenspace! I'm using Coopage to edit my indextemplate and this whole ordeal is driving me batty. With Coolpage either you have them publish the page or you get the program to help design it and then you have someone else (like Keenspace) to publish it for you. But all the images on the page are seperate and need to be toted along with the index template. But Keenspace is being the heavenly monarch of pain as it seems to decide to be at times. Also what's the best format to save my comic files as? Thanks fo the help that anyone can give ::deep breath, sigh:: -_- I need help

Okay, deep breath, calm down. *g* I'll try and help you best I can, some things you were asking were a little unclear. Let's see.
Okay, when you put an image on your webpage, it actually has to BE on your webspace for the site to pick it up. SO, for every image you want on your site, (this include buttons, the logo, the background, EVERYTHING) upload that image to your FTP, and put it in the workspace/images directory. Then, when you want to put the image on your webpage as you're building it, simply reference the image as '/images/whatever.jpg', or .gif, or .png, whatever format you want to use. I'm assuming that's what you're talking about when you say 'image referencing'.
As for file formats to save your comic in, I use .jpg, but that's because I have bigger comics, colour ones, and I find that they compress better in .jpg format - some people swear by .png, but when I try to save in that format in Photoshop 6.0, it actually makes the files BIGGER. What I would recommend doing is doing a picture, saving it in the three different formats, and comparing file sizes - if it's over aobut 200k, that's pretty damned big to sit there and wait for. The other thing you want to check is upload those picture files, in the different formats, to your FTP, again in the workspace/images folder, and take a look at them on the web to see which one makes the better picture - the web address for the images will be http://whateveryourcomicnameis.keenspac ... eis.jpg , or .gif, or .png. Take a look at them - with my pictures, .gif tends to make them look a little funky to my eye, but I think that's just because of the colouring method I use - there are a lot of people out there who use .gif format successfully, it just doesn't work for me, and I prefer .jpg. It's all in how you draw the pictures, and what your preference is.
As far as 'publishing' the page, I have NO idea on that one - I use Dreamweaver, and I just save the file as an .htm document, and that works fine for me - then I upload that indextemplate to /workspace, and update my page via the members page. I'm not sure what publishing it, or what it entails, but I know that the file for your index page needs to be named indextemplate.
A GOOD place to go if you're still confused is http://gear.keenspace.com , they have a TON of information on that site available for people to take a look at, including a F.A.Q, and a tutorial for newbies, which is REALLY helpful. Hope this helps a bit, and good luck!
------------------
